This year is no different, although Covid has made us wait a little longer than we would have liked. It uses this sensor to drive a slew of data points, for example stress and breathing rate. In general, I actually find the stress estimates reasonably accurate. And it’s an easy way to glance at how the day might have gone, or how it might contribute to my Body Battery. Body Battery is basically your energy level. You recharge it every night, and then decrease it during the day, or during periods of relaxation (like sitting on the couch watching TV). The one downside here is that ostensibly the main reason you’d do a Health Snapshot on a regular basis is consistency in timing of the readings. Meaning, everything except for HRV is automatically captured 24×7 anyway, and plotted 24×7 up to monthly and more if you like (assuming you’ve enabled SpO2). However, HRV is not. And arguably the ability to trend just these Health Snapshot readings by themselves, would be pretty useful. Unfortunately, there’s no way to do that currently. You can only look at a single reading at a time. I think the most important features that everybody wants on his previous gen Garmin watch is the ability to customize sports profiles, settings…Etc on GC App. If you’re tired of your usual running, cycling or walking routes, you can use the course creation tool in Garmin Connect to create a new one; just select a starting point, a distance, and an overall bearing (north, south, east, or west) and the app will generate a suitable route in a couple of seconds. You can then sync this to your Fenix 7, which will give you turn-by-turn directions as you go.

Like all Garmin watches, the Fenix 7 syncs with the Garmin Connect app for iOS and Android. Connecting the watch is a breeze, and the watch syncs data automatically whenever you complete a workout, or open the app. Later in the workout, you can see that my short-term Stamina as I end a brief interval is now down to 47%, whereas my long-term potential is 56%. The red arrow indicates it’s trending downwards.no support of ultrawideband, i guess. uwb is the next step replacing bluetooth first for audio, next for sensors. so i‘ll wait for next gen fenix 8 (i own a fenix 6 saphire) And then you can also see this in Garmin Connect Mobile afterwards, which is where you can spit out a PDF copy if you like:

That means that the Epix is much brighter and more vibrant, with a fast refresh rate that lends itself well to tools like on-screen animations to guide you through yoga and Pilates workouts. It also has an always-on option, so you don't have to raise your wrist to activate it. These modes include blink, pulse, beacon, blitz, and cadence (which is for walking/running). Further, there are options for speed including slow, medium, and fast. And finally, you can choose the color (white or red) for each one. The Fenix 7 Series follows that of the Venu 2 Plus two weeks ago, which allows you to long-press on any data in the watch face and be brought straight to that widget for deeper data. For example, if you long-press on the steps, it’ll bring you to the steps widget. I demonstrate this within the user interface video above. Here’s a chart (it shows this later in Garmin Connect, both mobile and desktop), showing this workout of 800’s and how it played out. In some cases, the interval wasn’t as impactful – such as those last two longer ones, largely because I was struggling to hold the same intensity levels (HR’s). Exactly! There seems to have been no good reason to change this. Perhaps Garmin are trying to work around a patent?The Fenix beta thread is full of this. There's no change to that approach here.

I use TrainingPeaks LT2 estimate (not Garmin’s) and the Joe Friel zone calculations, not Garmin’s. I have decided that Garmin is much better at collecting data than giving training advice. I think Polar is better as a first party but TP is the gold standard, unless you are going down the rabbit hole of Golden Cheetah and Kubios.I bought the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar and i am returning it to Garmin for the second time. The DLC-Coating is very bad and detaches from the bezel without any hits or mechanical force. It seems that this happens to many users. There are also reports of issues with the knobs and some people report lekay watches. I had Fenix 6 and and a 5 before but never heard of such big quality issues.
