All the boys aligned in the hot sun to get their canteens filled with water and the guard hands Stanley's canteen back empty. He is often referred to as his "No-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather", constantly being blamed for everything that goes wrong in Stanley's life.
