This is the story of the completely unhealthy and toxic relationship between Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco that begins in college in California and the several years that follow. Confident and cocksure, Stephen sees something in Lucy that no one else has, and she’s quickly seduced by this vision of herself, and the sense of possibility that his attention brings her.

Tell Me Lies travels at supersonic speed, issuing the reader with a complex psychological based story, that thrills from the first line to the parting sentence. The final party of the school year is hit by a wave of truths, secrets, and a shocking act of betrayal that threatens both a long-standing friendship and two relationships. I read this in one day because it was so well-written, engaging, fast-paced and at only roughly 250 pages it didn't take long to get through. Do what society expects - get married, have kids, be proper on the surface but yet underneath all of that is someone who constantly wants more. I really expected to enjoy this story but it was probably the biggest dud I have ever read to the end.

They don't see how self absorbed they are, or how ridiculous their behavior is, or how they should want more than what they're settling for. These guys are usually a little pudgey, or completely dumpy, but somehow have landed and continue to land stunning women.

Read this if you want a realistic “romance” with manipulation, deception, betrayal and too many lies to count.In fact, he makes a study of it, deliberately creating a persona that his target young lady will like . Lucy Albright, young Long Island twenty-something year old has moved across the country to California to enroll in college. Lucy, oh broken little Lucy frustrated me to no end because you just want her to stop obsessing, realize her self worth and never speak to Stephen again, but I couldn’t get mad at her because I’ve been her. Lucy tries to move on after the death of a new friend by accepting Stephen's invitation to go on a date. Tell Me Lies is unlike anything I've ever read, a mind boggling portrayal of dysfunction that never felt good to read yet I couldn't look away.

Lucy confronts Stephen after learning about the bombshell at Macy's memorial to find out what he knows.With a hooking opening that links directly back to the close of Tell Me Lies, readers will be hard pressed to turn away from the pages of Pomare’s latest offering. It’s an intense exploration of a twisted relationship between two people who have no business being together. Tell Me Lies kind of accidentally got put on my NetGalley approvals (I was asking the publicist for two other books and this one just got approved along with them) so I took a look at it, even though this really isn't my type of book. Stephan travels to to the city for a weekend job offer, while Lucy wonders where they are in their relationship. I loved all of the connections and twenty minutes before the end of the book I had determined that I really hated the ending; I finished the book and loved it.
