We’ve heard the stories from the actors about the filming before but to hear from those who were just there to watch the filming is quite special. It’s still a bit ropey in parts over the last two episodes, but hey, if it means we have the entire Pertwee era in colour (of one sort or another), that’s fine by me and if you don’t like it, you can always turn the colour down on your telly. I also would not assume two doctors in the same year will not happen, particularly the 80s era as they are more recent and easier to work on.

In years gone by, The Mind of Evil was one of the more problematic serials in the Pertwee era, existing only as a black and white film print and a dodgy telerecording with a piss-poor colour signal. Season 8 is a collection of big, brash, colourful romps, the Season 7 template softened by the introduction of warmer and more intriguing regular characters (although there’s an argument to suggest that The Master, appearing in every serial, becomes a little overused).The way they are knocking these out might not have that long 2 year wait as it seems to have been the filmed documentaries and location films that were being held back due to the pandemic and also actor availability. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. to have distinctly hostile intentions – is surely as pure comic strip style as the series had ever been to that point and the underrated six-parter Colony in Space sees the Doctor and Jo travel to the unwelcoming planet Uxarius where waits another Universe-dominating plot by the Master. Much has been written about Delgado’s stunningly menacing performance over the decades, but it bears repeating how utterly unique and immense his presence is from his first appearance.

Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. The Claws of Axos Episode One and Episode Four, along with The Dæmons Episode Four were remastered from their original PAL VTs (with elements of Axos One from an original studio tape).And Colony in Space, whilst a tad overlong, has some clever social commentary about the dangers of colonialism peppered throughout its tale of sinister mining corporations and alien doomsday weapons. There aren’t many instances in this season where it feels like the script has been contorted to accommodate the Master, but Don Houghton’s story is the one that comes closest.
