The examples in the textbook made doing the homework a much easier process, and while I'm still confused on the point of linear algebra and much of how it works, this book did help me get a solid introduction, so I'll take it! More often than not, it does a good job at translating the formula to a sensible sentence, and throughout reading this book it made me realize that mathematical formula isn't more than a language. This textbook provides students a theoretical basis which can then be applied to the practical R and Python problems, providing the tools needed for real-world applications. The author then concludes the main section of the book with a chapter on orthogonality and the least squares method (6) that provides plenty of applications and then a closing chapter on symmetric matrices and quadratic forms that deals with constraint optimization and other applications (7).
