The Hot Metal Pro irons have a slightly thinner top line and narrower sole compared to the standard JPX 921 Hot Metal irons. However, the standout difference, for me, is the reduced level of offset. In practice, the difference in control and shot shaping between JPX standard and pro irons is minimal. Both are pitched for distance and forgiveness over the playability of the MP-range. However, both offer far greater control and playability than comparable game improvement irons, such as the TaylorMade Sim-Max or Cleveland HB irons. Increased Stopping Power

Similar to the standard Hot Metal irons, these are cast, not forged. The smaller head does result in a sharper and crisper feeling when striking these irons out the sweet spot. Therefore, it is considered very poor form for an operator (or the machinist who cared for the machine) to permit this to happen. The capital letters in HoTMetaL spell HTML. The term comes from hot metal typesetting which involves melting alloys into the shape of letters so they can be used by Linotype machines to print words on paper.Non-ferrous metals also originate in coke, coal, and ore burden. Coals with P content below 0.08 % are normally desired. Thermodynamics and metallurgy within the BF concentrate the trace metals into the different output streams. There are two main qualities of HM normally being produced in the BF. These are basic grade iron and the foundry grade iron. Basic grade of HM has less than 1.0 % of Si, and lower than 1 % of Mn. This type of HM is mainly used for steel making. There are several grades specified in various standards based on Si and Mn content of the HM. Foundry grade of HM is mostly being used in iron foundries as pig iron for remelting and casting into cast iron products. It contains higher amount of Si. Various standards specify composition limits for Si and Mn for different grades of this type of HM. Si content in foundry grade is much higher and usually is in the range of 1.5 % to 3.5 %. It can be as high as 4.25 %.
