Falling Kingdoms is her first venture into the young-adult genre and Falling Kingdoms is a very good entry. I really love Magnus transformation from a puppet into a real man with his own thoughts. While in this book he is still following his father no matter what, I can already tell hes doubting many things. I cannot wait to see what he does in the following novels if hell finally be able to become more independent.

So I guess with all that in mind, Id say that Rebel Spring is very clearly the second book in a series. It wasnt bad, but it was mostly just moving a few pieces around the board to lead up to something bigger. I am disappointed that I didnt like the book more. It wasnt bad, but I was missing that passion and excitement that I felt during the first book. All the dialogue reads like it's the same voice. The same extremely corny voice. There are 4 protagonists and each play an essential part of the story. Cool Characters (so far I like Magnus, Theon, Jonas, Brion & probably Nicolo) well-created, realistic, with their own desires, intentions, struggles & goals, realistic traits & behavior.

The problem I have with this set of characters is that I can tell I am supposed to sympathize with them. Buried Alive: Kurtis does this to Magnus at the end of the fifth book, breaking all his limbs for extra cruelty. If it weren’t for the bloodstone ring, he would have died. Gray-and-Grey Morality: None of the three lands in Mytica are truly in the right, in the end; Auranos is peaceful, but also completely hedonistic, elitist, and has been taxing its neighbor Paelsia into destitution for generations. Paelsia is incredibly poor and just wants to live comfortably, but is sexist and brutal, to the point the other two view it as a land of savages. Limeros upholds the traits of strength, faith, and wisdom, but also enforces ruthless witch hunts and is ruled by a power-hungry monarch. Despite disliking the book itself, I had an absolute blast participating in a fantasy league game with these awesome people:Uhhh it's been a week and I forgot some stuff, but anyways you should read it and laugh at all the people dying every five chapters! And what kind of darkness will descend–and who will be safe–after Prince Ashur reveals the dangerous price he paid to cheat death? The Limeran and Paelsian forces march on Auranos.
