The idea of the game itself is a real win as its so different from anything else we have ever played. At the end of the game the first one to reach the finish wins the star. The game is quite fun and this is certainly a keeper. It’s all very simple and really lots of fun. The game had us doing monkey and dinosaur impressions, sit ups, touching our toes, it had us wiggling our ears and talking in silly voices. It was tremendous fun and just the kind of thing to bring out the silly in anyone.To aim of the game is to be the first to get from the start to the finish. As you move along the board children have to either, Act, Say or Do. Their are also hidden forfeits on the front of the cars which can be read using a red magnifying glass and that makes the game even more fun! The game is really quite fun and my daughter loved testing it out with her friend.What a performance comes with a game board, counters, a dice, egg timer, cards and a spinning board. Today we are sharing a fantastic new game that Sylvia was sent to review. The game is from Orchard Toys and is called “What A Performance”. Skills – Part of the reason this is a firm favourite is because of all the different skills it helps Monkey with. It encourages a lot of discussion because of all of the activities and so is widening his vocabulary all the time, only he doesn’t realise it! It also helps his imagination, observational, and social skills just like many games do. The fact it includes a dice it also means that it helps his counting and number skills. We really like the Orchard Toys “What a performance” game and my daughter will be playing this again. That’s for sure.

And have tried out a number of their games some of our favourites are listed below: What a Performance is great to get the whole family laughing and playing together, featuring actions and sounds all ages will enjoy performing! Perfect to play as teams, this is a great alternative to get younger children involved or for players who are less confident but would still like to guess other player’s actions. Contents: I am always drawn to Orchard Toys because of the educational nature of the games. What a Performance game is no different.

As with all Orchard Toys games, What a Performance does have some educational benefits. It promotes imaginative play, encourages personal and social skills and can encourage group play. I think one of the biggest things we noticed with it, was it was really great for getting him to think about how to follow the instructions. This gave him more confidence to stand up and be silly, which is an essential life skill, or it is in my book. The game is fairly simple to set up. You put the jigsaw board together, this comes in four pieces and takes seconds to do. You choose which colour you will be, red, green, yellow or blue and take your playing pieces and put them at the start. What a Performance is a properly fun game. It’s just the thing for building a bit of confidence whilst having a whole lot of fun! Players race around the board completing challenges - can you pretend to be a drummer, talk like a pirate or cross your eyes?

It’s kind of like charades, but with a lot more going on. We properly laughed when we played this game and it would be a great game for small-ish groups of people or families. The game is really fun. It is aimed at kids aged 5 plus to adults and my daughter and her friend who are both 10 years old really enjoyed playing this game. This well-paced spelling game is ideal for children aged 5 to 9 and it's a fun way to reinforce those spelling skills as well as word recognition - children will hardly realise they are learning! There are 17 word cards and 67 letter cards. Place these face down on the table and then players take it in turns to build words by turning over a word card and finding the letter cards to spell out the word. The action is kept going as players race against the sand timer to spell out their words... when the time runs out, the letters have to be passed on to the next player. The winner is the player who has managed to complete the most words when the pile is used up. There are many different ways in which the game can be used to enhance literacy skills, and for younger players it can be played without the timer - or give them two goes! It can either be played as a game for two to four players, or simply see how many words you can make with your child.
