Neale says he never thought for a moment that any publisher would seriously consider putting a book out that contained the transcribed notes of a person who said he was talking to God, but that he sent a type-written copy to a few firms to see if the messages he was receiving had any validity.

I hope he will ever get to the true understanding. Walsch claims divine inspiration for Conversations with God, saying that God literally spoke to him (“over my right shoulder”), and he wrote down what he heard as if taking dictation. However, in an April 7, 2000, interview on CNN’s Larry King Live, Walsch admitted that he couldn’t be sure that it was God speaking and that the books could have been the product of his own subconscious.

In Walsch's viewpoint, this present creation is established by and within God so that sentience can exist, which does not directly remember its true nature as God. Split into infinite forms, all life can live, experience, and recreate its nature as God, rather than "know" itself as the creator in theory. It is essentially a game, entered into by agreement, to remember who and what we are and enjoy and create, knowing that ultimately there is no finish line that some will not reach, no understanding that is not without value, no act that does not add meaning to the future or for others. Walsch claims that God says that we have a common interest in keeping the game going. There is nothing else to do except to experience our existence and then experience more of it, to uncover deeper layers of truth and understanding. There are no external rules because all experience is subjective and chosen. But within this, there are ways that people will gradually come to see their thoughts, words, and actions are either working or not working. A thing is either functional or dysfunctional, not right or wrong. These rememberings take place over "time" and can take hundreds and thousands of lifetimes. Jesus is said to have said, "without the Father (God), I am nothing". The Father of all is pure thought, the energy of life ( Book 3, Chapter 11, PG. 180).

These answers led to other questions, and before he knew it, he found himself engaged in an on-paper dialogue. . .question/answer, question/answer, question/answer. . .which he later called “conversations with God.” In those exchanges he was told: “ You will make of this dialogue a book, and you will render My words accessible to many people. It is part of your work.”

In this book, the author tells about his views on celibacy, the taboo of sex, tantric sex, and myths surrounding it. But in actual fact we need to begin by being happy, or whatever, and then we will find that what we are doing leads to having what we want.
