The 6900’s easily recognized by its round shape flattened at the bottom, the “three eyes” (a.k.a., “triple graph”) and the light activation button located front and center on the bottom of the face. Features: Multi-Band 6 auto time adjustment, world time (31 time zones, 48 cities + UTC, DST on/off, home/world city time swap), 1/100-second stopwatch (60 minutes max, with split), countdown timer (100 minutes, settable in seconds), 5 daily alarms (with countdown), hourly time signal, full auto LED light with afterglow, full auto-calendar, button tone on/off, 12/24-hour format, hand shift The solar and MB6 of this GW6900 make a more compelling argument for value but then you lose the absolute cheapness in price of the DW6900. One of the Rangeman’s unique features: one-touch instant start for the stopwatch. If you’re in the normal Time Mode, a single press of the lower right button will instantly switch modes and start the stopwatch. You can also get to Stopwatch Mode by cycling the lower left mode button.

The three circular indicators on top are (from left to right) - amount of solar energy watch has (high, med, low), middle circle has the different timers, stopwatches, alarm settings, and the right circle is seconds by 2's (2 seconds, 4, seconds, 6 seconds, and so on to 10). All of these settings inside the circle itself will light up if they are "on," which is awesome as you can easily see if any alarms are on and how much solar energy your watch has. So right now as I look at my watch, the "high" setting is lit up so I know that my watch has a "high" charge of solar energy. I have one (of 5 possible) alarms on, so one of my alarm settings is lit up as well. At work, I put the 'mute' setting on, so that will light up as well if it is on. If any are off, they do not light up. The third circular graph is mostly eye candy, divided into ten segments which turn on / off sequentially as an ersatz second-hand during the default time mode, making a 360-degree “sweep” every ten seconds. In stopwatch mode, the pie graph segments represent 1/10th of a second and cycle on and off accordingly, making a 360-degree sweep every second. In their favor, the DW5600 and DW6900 have “flash alerts” with a flashing display and buzzer for the alarm and hourly time signals. Also, the countdown timer is settable in 1-second, 1-minute, and 1-hour increments, rather than just 1-minute and 1-hour increments for the GW models. The timer also has an auto-repeat function.

Comparing Products

This is the newer generation of the famous Frogman watch with its lopsided case, but with an all-analog display. It includes the latest tech and durability specs, as well as a unique feature that allows you to hide the hour hand under the minute hand to avoid confusion and allow you to only focus on the minutes, which are most important when diving. The DW5600 and DW6900 do not have world time, so there are no differences between the two models in that area. Other limitations are only one alarm, no option to turn the button operation sound off, and no adjustable afterglow duration on either model. (It should be noted that the alarm is a “multi-function alarm” and not just a “daily alarm,” which offers a daily, date, 1-month, or monthly alarm.) The dimensions and weight are slightly different from their GW counterparts at 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm and 53 grams for the DW5600 and 53.2 x 50 x 16.3 mm and 67 grams for the DW6900, though not enough to be very noticeable.

The Casio GW-6900-1 is a watch with a Tough Solar mechanism, meaning it is powered by solar energy. The watch features an LCD dial, providing a clear and easy-to-read display. It is designed to be waterproof and can withstand a water-resistant pressure of up to 20 ATM, equivalent to a water-resistant depth of 200 meters. Okay if they flushed down the light button lip to match the rest of the rim around the dial I could accept the triple graph size, so there is potential if Casio would move on from the nostalgia.For the record, I am by no standards a "watch guy," and have never been. But recently, I have wanted a watch but wanted a watch that would be rugged yet also show the day, day/month, and time, along with a few timers and such, and this watch has ALL OF THAT and more! The Casio GW-6900-1 boasts an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month, ensuring that it keeps accurate time. Its tough construction and reliable mechanism make it a durable and long-lasting timepiece. The Triple Sensor is not a professional-level instrument. If your life depends on a good compass, get a good compass. Same for the altimeter. Due to body heat, the thermometer is only accurate off your wrist. The G9000-1V Mudman has an extra-protective case featuring mud and dust resistance. It’s a good choice if your deployment takes you to an extreme environment like the desert or jungle. The G9000 also has specialized features such as two stopwatches and five multi-function alarms that are more versatile than the usual daily alarm. The multi-function alarm can be set as a daily alarm, a date alarm for a time on a specific date, a 1-month alarm that sounds everyday on the month set, and a monthly alarm that sounds on a specific day every month. Although this particular model is more colorful with its red buttons than other G9000 models that are currently available, we suggest the G9000-1V for its easy-to-read non-inverted LCD display.
