I look forward to the next book to be released in March 2024 I have read all 18 books in the Cliffhaven series and have enjoyed everyone of them. Reading about Jim's experience in Burma with the Chindits made me think of my dear late father Bob who was in the Chindits and fought in Burma and India like Jim he never spoke of what he went through, men in those days came home from war and were expected to get on with their lives but like Jim a lot of them found it very difficult and it was also very difficult for the wives like Peggy. When I pick up an Ellie Dean book I know that's my day gone because I have to keep reading until I'm finished.

Poor Jim had to get used to civilian life and Daisy was very wary of Him as he was in competition for her Mum's attention and a stranger in her young life. Meanwhile evacuee Ruby Clark has much to contend with when her estranged mother turns up, having completed a long prison sentence. As always, Ellie Dean has brought to life the characters of Cliffehaven that I have grown to love in the past 18 books.Biography: Ellie Dean lives in a tiny hamlet set deep in the heart of the South Downs in Sussex, which has been her home for many years and where she raised her three children. Ron and Rosie have moved into their new house but things are not easy for them and they need a good heart to heart.

There is huge heartache still to come for Ruby, and she will need her Beach View family more than ever. How good was it to meet up again with Peggy, Cordelia, Ron, Jim, Rosie and the others from the Cliffehaven series.The things he's endured in Burma are making life difficult for him, also he's feels at times that he's surplus to requirements at home because Peggy has become so independent and his family grown up.

I have loved reading this series from the start it has been well written and at times has kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next in the seaside town of Cliffehaven.
