which interesting in their own right, but perhaps more entertaining when viewed as a whole. There's comedy, fanservice, ultraviolence, corrupt politics, eccentric characters, melodrama, and a sleuth of other tidbits littered throughout. All of these aspects by themselves are fine, but it's the assembly in which these ideas are presented that gives way to content that's comedically problematic. In 2007, Takahiro was asked to do a manga for Square Enix magazine. He originally came up with the idea of an "all-female band of assassins, and the protagonist is a boy who is captured by them and has to work for them." After his editor approved the idea, he waited on serialization until his company had stabilized and had released two other titles, during which he developed the characters, story and world. In August 2009, following the release of Majikoi - Oh! Samurai Girls, Takahiro looked for an artist for the serialization, and recruited Tashiro Tetsuya to do the illustrations. He liked Tashiro's ability to draw fast-paced action scenes and that he can draw cute girls. [ vol.1:postscript]

Recruited along with her older sister Akame by the Empire, the two are separated into different assassination divisions. Kurome ( 黒女) eventually gains notoriety as a cruel, inhumane assassin. [ ch.3] Kurome was initially subjected to harsh treatment while forcefully administered experimental dopant drugs that enhance her abilities, developing an addiction as they are disguised as sweets. [ ch.15, 18] [ vol.4:postscript] [ ch.33] Upon learning of Akame's defection from the Empire, Kurome decides to be the one to kill her. Her Teigu, "March of the Dead: Yatsufusa" ( 死者行軍 八房, Shisha Yakōgun: Yatsufusa), is a katana that turns her victims into mute zombies; she can control up to eight creatures, including Danger Beasts, who can also use the skills they acquired when they were alive. [ ch.19] She joins the Jaegers and is the first person Wave meets. Her powers are permanently restricted in a failed assassination attempt by Chelsea, and in a final duel with her sister Akame she is almost killed. Wave eventually rescues her, and the two agree to defect from the Empire by faking their deaths. After the Empire's defeat and end of the war, Kurome and Wave both live together with the former still scarred by her past while the latter lost one of his internal organs as a price for using two Teigu at once. The Teigu were created on the instruction of the First Emperor, who feared that the Empire he had founded would eventually fall. To prevent this, he gathered many materials and hired many scientists throughout the world to make strong weapons and defenses. The creation of the Teigu are the result of their efforts. There were 48 Teigu in all, but almost half of them were lost during a civil war about five centuries before the start of the story. Several Teigu have been seen to be destroyed; it is not known how many of the original 48 remain. The story is very straightforward, if only by design. A corrupt kingdom takes advantage of their citizens through tyrannical rule, and to fight against this oppression, rebel forces send aid by hiring a band of assassins tasked with killing off high-ranking members of the capital. It's like Assassin's Creed, but with a lot more boobs and nakama power involved. Our protagonist, PussyBetaMale-kun, or Tatsumi, if you prefer, joins this hit squad. Many Teigu were created from the remains of Danger Beasts that had unique powers, imbuing them with special abilities. Many weapon and armor-type Teigu were forged from a rare metal called Orichalcum. Teigu are not limited to one ability; some are known to have secret powers that have yet to be discovered, and some have powers that are lost to history.

Najenda ( ナジェンダ) is the leader of Night Raid. She has gray hair, a cyborg arm and wears an eyepatch. [5] She is a former general of the Imperial Army who, disgusted with Esdeath's excessive cruelty, confronts her over it. [ ch.16] After the failed confrontation, Najenda defects and joins the Revolutionary Army. [ ch.16] She initially wields the Teigu "Roman Artillery: Pumpkin", until she loses an arm and eye against Esdeath. [ volume&issueneeded] When she learns that the empire has assembled the Jaegers, she acquires the humanoid Teigu Susanoo with which she is compatible. [ vol.5] As a former Imperial general, her personal combat ability is exceptional even without the aid of a Teigu.

The Akame ga Kill! manga and anime series features an extensive cast of fictional characters. The visuals of the characters were designed by Tetsuya Tashiro, while their stories were created by Takahiro. The story focuses on Tatsumi, a young warrior who joins an assassin group called Night Raid to fight corruption from the Empire. Its members, along with other characters in the series, wield super weapons called Teigu ( 帝具, Anime & movie: Imperial Arms). [1] [ ch.5] Conception [ edit ] The Elite Seven was a special squad of assassins that serves the Empire during the events of the prequel manga Akame ga Kill! Zero. Except for its leader, each member of the squad carried a less powerful version of the Teigu called a Shingu ( 臣具) which were created by an Emperor 400 years ago in an attempt to produce stronger artifacts than the original Teigu, but with no success. All members of the unit are children raised since childhood in the arts of assassination and Akame was a member of them, ranked no. 7 before defecting to the Revolutionary Army. Kill the Religious Organization (教団を斬る, Kyōdan o Kiru) is the fifteenth episode of the Akame ga Kill! anime. Suzuka ( 鈴鹿) is a masochistic woman whose training as one of the Four Rakshasas gave her vast durability and endurance along with bodily manipulation like extending her nails at high speed to pierce her foes. Her achievements speak to her combat skill, having retrieved five Imperial Arms from enemies in the past. After surviving her battle with Tatsumi during Night Raid's mission to assassinate Bolic, Suzuka provided the Empire information on his ties to Night Raid while assigned to Wild Hunt to replace Champ and Enshin. She is a bi. Soon after, Esdeath nearly disfigures her, which in turn incites Suzuka's lustful obsession with Esdeath. Suzuka was placed under Esdeath's command during the siege of the Capital. In the end, Suzuka survived and left the Capital with Esdeath's severed hand. In the anime, she dies during her fight against Tatsumi. The Emperor ( 皇帝, Kōtei ) is a young boy who wishes to lead his people to a bright future. [ ch.4] But his naive nature and inexperience resulted in him serving as nothing more but as a figurehead under Honest's manipulation, unaware that prime minister murdered both of his parents. As the sole survivor of the Imperial bloodline, the Emperor is the only person capable of operating the Imperial Arm known as "Imperial Guardian: Shikoutazer" ( 帝都守護 シコウテイザー, Teito Shugo: Shikouteizā, "Primus Imperator" in the anime), which is a giant 500-meter tall suit of armor boasted to be the most powerful of the Teigu and can fire energy beams that can obliterate entire armies with a single volley. But what the Emperor did not know was that Honest had Dorothea alchemically modify Shikoutazer with a trump card only he can activate on command or as a deadman's switch: Purge Mode. In Purge Mode, Shikoutazer's armor breaks off to reveal its monstrous appearance while the emperor's mind is warped with bloodlust. He is defeated by Tatsumi, who brings forth the full power of Incursio to destroy Shikoutazer at the cost of his human form. In the aftermath of the siege, after asking Najenda to rebuild their nation, the Emperor relents himself to be publicly executed.

One thing that I find annoying with Akame Ga Kill is apart from the Jaegars (which mostly were pretty average). Every other villain was bland,exaggerated, and unoriginal that I couldn't help but laugh when I saw them. Most of the supporting villains are either complete psychos or are so obsessed with power that they don't even seem human. This does get better after the introduction of the Jaegars but is it really too much to ask to get a decent villain that I can take seriously? The story follows Tatsumi, a countryside boy that travels to the capital to join the military and earn money to send to his village suffering from poverty.To a b c d e f Green, Scott. The problem isn't in the comedy itself. (Though I admit most of the humor was stale) but rather the execution. Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to slide in a petty joke in many emotional or dramatic scenes. Probably the best example of this would be a scene where Tatsumi finds out about the corruption in the capital and mourns over his loved ones that died to this corruption. This was supposed to be a very emotional scene but then Night Raid kidnaps Tatsumi and makes petty jokes along the way. It is scenes like this that make me unable to take the show very seriously. Sayo is a childhood friend of Iyesau and Tatsumi. They leave their village in hopes of finding money, but after they got separated by bandits, Aria invited them to stay in her house, but they were drugged and Aria brutally tortures Sayo to death, But she kept her strong will until the very end. Her corpse was found by Tatsumi and Night Raid. Once Aria goes on a cold-blooded berserk rant over how she murdered Sayo over her beautiful hair, Her death was avenged by an enraged Tatsumi as he kills Aria by slicing her in the stomach.

His Shingu is the "Sidewinder", a whip that moves according to its user's will, but demands much concentration. However Despite this Mez has shown herself to be quite friendly towards the members of the Elite Seven having even identified herself as their "step sister in law" due to them being raised and adopted by Gozuki. Crimson blood-spray animated with such vigor that it makes it readily apparent that the people behind this project are having as much fun slaughtering their cast as we as viewers get from watching them die. In a way, it's like this show's animators were a part of the noble class themselves, as they hyper-fixate on bringing these death sequences to life. Sadly, when no one is being turned into blood confetti, the actual quality of the animation drops off significantly. Stiff body motion. Lazily panning across flat landscapes. Shading devoid of effort or care. Scene compositions setup with zero creative foresight; all of it expressed with complete apathy. As if it was an impatient child twiddling its thumbs waiting for the director to give it the green-light for the next fight sequence or public execution to occur. Budo was shown to hold the belief that the soldiers of the Empire shouldn't be fighting each other and instead save their efforts to defeat the rebels, as shown when Wave didn't want to stop beating Syura, despite being declared the winner of the duel, Budo punched him and angrily scolded him, but then smiled as he was leaving while saying that they are both strong and should focus on stopping the rebellion instead of fighting each other.
