You can also take advantage of this clay by creating sculptures, with wires and polystyrene shapes to help you structure and pose your creations, smoothing it out with water as you go. Remember to be mindful of the aerosol varnish’s finish. I am using a gloss varnish spray, but they come in different sheens. Look for a matte sheen if you want it to be the most natural looking. Low and behold – I discovered this amazing air dry clay from DAS in both terracotta color and white! I was delighted and couldn’t wait to get started. Try to open only what you need at one time and leave the rest of the clay tightly sealed or wrapped in storage. Air-dry polymer clay is designed to air-dry and may harden prematurely if left unsealed.

As you work, cover any extra clay you're not handling with a damp paper towel to keep it from drying. Depending on the size of the decorative objects we recommend using white school glue, Crazy Glue or Gorilla Glue to adhere objects like stones, beads, glitter, moss, etc. to thoroughly dry Air-Dry Clay pieces. Since I don't have a kiln (umm...dream home!!), air dry was my only option. There were a few different colors available, but terra cotta clay seemed liked the best to me since I love earthy tones and materials. And since clay is so inexpensive versus metal pendants, I could afford to experiment with shapes and impressions without throwing away a bunch of cash. Bonus: it's also incredibly relaxing to work with your hands in this fashion!
