Simply breathtaking from the beginning to the end. The biggest “wow” factor is the dead silent noise floor of the vinyl. You will never see a better sounding version of KOB out there….not even close to this one. Can’t wait for Chad and the folks at AP to put out the 45rpm version of this album in the future. This disc is amazing, even on my modest system. I've mostly listened to Kind of Blue on CD for many years. Playing this LP was like listening to it for the first time. Porter, Lewis (1999). I already have more than a few pressings of Kind of Blue, accumulated since I bought my first copy 57 years ago, so I'm just not sure I need another. The real question is: has the music changed? I hope the answer is "no." It's music that's still interesting, important, and historic. And no matter which version I listen to it's the music that draws me in. Of course, it's great to hear a pressing that's sonically wonderful; it certainly enhances the experience. But I'm leaning to pass on this release and find LPs that feature music and performances that I don't know quite as well--or at all.My copy is 17603. I have none of the issues that many describes. I have only re-presses to compare to, anyway, this one sound phenomenal out of my Proac; I can only imagine how an OG press may sounds, if it's true that the OG blown it away . My answer is : hardly ever ! Why ? There is a lot of money to be earned on "better then ever "versions of it ! Acoustic Sounds bought a bunch of metal parts from Classic Records when they went out of business, though not the contractual right to press the records, which they had to acquire separately. Really happy with this UHQR (number 7700) and surprised it is clearly better than both my Classic 33 and 45! Just sounds beautiful and alive! Well done Chad and Co.! You really do feel like you're in the recording studio with the band; the realism of the room is that stark. I've heard the UHQR called the "apex release," and can confirm this to be true. Surely your bud Chad’s gotten you one! Any word on timing of the 45 version?During So What and All Blues, I heard the breathy saxes sound nicer than I have before. Generally, the tone of those saxes is anathema to me, but here it seems that they have changed timbre just slightly, and now I don't mind them.
