It should be noted that certain people dislike the bright sound produced by Roland’s SuperNATURAL engine. This is ultimately a subjective opinion, but I find it to be completely usable. Plus, you can always fine-tune the sound to your liking with parameters like ambiance and brilliance. The replacement for the popular Roland FP30, the Roland FP30X is an excellent upgrade and amazing value. From its compact size, portability, excellent speaker system, connectivity and ability to add various stands and pedal-boards; this piano is flexible and great for a beginner or professional performer. Its looks great at home, as well as on stage! These keys also include escapement modeling, which makes the keys feel even more true-to-life by including a subtle ‘notch’ feel, which is present on real acoustic pianos as well. This is the same for when you’re using your pedal. Generally speaking, 128 note polyphony is usually more than enough, and 256 is quite impressive. Bluetooth Capabilities Of The FP-30X Are Superior

When it comes to sounds, Roland has a long-standing pedigree of being one of the best sound designers on the market. In fact, most of Roland’s vintage instruments are still used to this day, upwards of 30 years since their initial release. With that said, some people might find heavier actions to be less versatile for playing certain styles of music, though this will mostly depend on your prior experience, as what one player considers heavy, another player might say is just fine. As far as changing different settings, you will need to look at the manual as it does require you to hold down one button while navigating. As far as headphones go, we are looking at 1 x 1/8″, 1 x 1/4″ which is pretty nice for this price point. This means you could have dual headphones going at the same time, should you be practicing late night a friend or instructor.The FP-30X is supposed to be an upgrade to the FP-30, a supercharged version of the initial model. But, did they achieve what they set out to, and are the upgrades worth choosing this new version over the other? This, and many more, are the things that I wanted to find out when I decided to test this model. In this review, I present my findings to you. What makes these speakers so great for the price point is that the digital pianos from Casio, Yamaha, and Korg don’t matchup in this department. The ambiance effect is the FP-30X’s version of a reverb, and uses a hall algorithm to emulate the feeling of space.
