I want to thank Netgalley, Pan Macmillan and Fiona Cummins for allowing me to read this and give my personal thoughts. It’s been two months since Carlie left Australia to live with her grandmother, following the death of her parents.

Inside these 120 pages, you'll find full rules and background for both the disciplined Imperial Navy Breacher and savage Farstalker Kinband kill teams, datacards (including fillable blanks to copy), Tac Ops and Ploys, equipment lists, and Spec Ops rules including Rare Equipment and Battle Honours. Into the Dark is one of the darkest books I've ever read, but it also made me feel so many emotions and the end absolutely gutted me! I’m so excited to read more from this author and need to hunt down Fiona’s back catalogue especially the duology that features the dark Mr. And to top it off, although the CD-set was described as in "very good" condition, it's actually MINT/LIKE NEW! Overall still a fairly gripping read, and I might have marked it higher had my expectations not been so high.With 'Into The Dark' she is finally accepting of her grandmother Rose with the help of a new friend Rhianna. The book opens with Julianne arriving at Piper’s for their regular run… only to find no one home and signs of the family having departed – perhaps against their will – suddenly. We’re easily put in the picture of someone who’s not bound by the rules and believes in right and wrong more than ‘justice’.

The Neighbour (my first read by Fiona Cummins) was one of my top reads two years ago, so it thrills me to pieces that Into the Dark lived up to that one. Into the Dark is the second instalment of the Into the Mists trilogy that picks two months after the death of Carlie’s parents. The timeline revolves around the disappearance – days before; hours before; and weeks before; with each jump Cummins is able to give us a different glimpse into their lives, their interactions, actions and…. I don't want to say much about the plot because I don't want to give anything away; but it goes without saying that it is twisted and dark and not for the faint of heart. Those thrown together at parenthood’s beginnings, out of necessity and seeking another kindred soul who is not scared to admit that actually, being a mother can suck really, really hard on occasion, often find that these friendships get put aside as the children, forced to play together from proximity choose their own friends.I struggled to follow the jumping timeline occasionally and didn’t connect with any of the characters. Having read the author's disclaimer and trigger warning I was ready to feed off the toxicity of this couple and the author definitely delivered the toxicity.
