Some folks have surmised that BS381/537 Signal Red was the trainer red. Is this the general consensus? Clean your shoes using rubbing alcohol. According to Shoe Care Expert Rio Jongsae Kim, it's very important to "clean the soles first."Take a clean cotton ball and dip it in rubbing alcohol. When the Ministry of Aircraft Production was absorbed into the Ministry of Supply on 1st April 1946, the MoS took over the responsibility for aircraft colour standards. These took the form of painted sheets of card enclosed in an envelope which were bound in a ring binder and entitled Ministry of Supply Stand of Colour Gloss and Smoothness for Aircraft Finishes Supplementary to BSS 381. It was not until 1964 that aircraft colours were included in BS 381C. Any colours that were in editions of BS 381 prior to the 1964 edition were there because they were there when they were chosen for an aircraft application.
