I know many people with minor problems prefer shampoos, that’s why I do recommend Revita. But in terms of effect, it’s much weaker than supplements. Plus – if you’re dealing with hair loss or you’re trying to grow your hair faster, supplements are a way better choice (both as effect and money). You have very fine hair or thin hair:Again, although Routine shampoo can supposedly help hair thinning and promote hair growth amongst all hair types, the enzymes it includes might just be a little too much for already fragile hair. As can the surfactant I mentioned above – sure, it would be useful for cleansing the scalp but it might be just a little too harsh and actually have a negative effect on hair quality, leading to more hair loss. I’d also recommend supporting your immune system further by following an anti-inflammatory diet (see my post on nutrition here) and taking fish oil supplements to further lower inflammation – really important with autoimmune conditions and as you mentioned Lupus, this could be of particular relevance to you. I found this book by Dr Amy Myers to be really interesting and helpful if you need further tips around that! In case you want a trustworthy brand, I recommend either Nutrafol or Viviscal(but probably Viviscal). They both have studies behind, lots of evidence and strong formula. The only difference is that Nutrafol is a lot more expensive, while Viviscal costs about half ( pretty much both versions). I only needed a very small amount to create a lather, around the size of an almond. That meant my bottle lasted for ages! Personally, I didn’t need the conditioner – as I’ve so little hair and the shampoo was moisturizing enough – but for those with long hair, especially if it’s quite dry or tangled, follow with the scalp stimulating conditioner. What about side effects?

Hair grows at an average rate of 0.50” per month. Revita promotes optimal conditions to never interfere with hair growth. On the other hand – there’s also the medical option. FDA approved 2 substances for male pattern hair loss: Minoxidil and Finasteride. Minoxidil comes as a topical lotion while Finasteride comes as a supplement (and can be bought only with a medical prescription).

The third is by using caffeine to stimulate the growth of hair follicles. But if you’re using it for hair loss/growth – you will need to use it as such (for fast results). 2. How long lasts one bottle?

Maybe you don’t just want to take my word for it. And that’s ok – I’m not a doctor, after all, just a regular alopecian in search of kinder, natural treatments for my noggin who shares her experiences! Taking a supplement might speed up the results? I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but it’s actually designed for stimulating hair growth. So it’s not meant to fight hair loss (even though it does it really well actually).
