Share — give or take — as many Items as you’d like with Heroes on your space. This action isn’t a 1:1 exchange and doesn’t even need to involve you as long as the Heroes doing the sharing are on your space. I haven’t yet had a chance to experience ohanami in Japan for myself and in my research I’ve found conflicting information about whether or not music can be played in the public outdoor celebration of this custom. (Some sources have reported that in the past this was acceptable, while others say it no longer is and is actually considered rude to do so.) As such, I’m inclined to recommend playing Ohanami without any music so players can admire the card gardens they create without any aural distractions. In the end, the format remains vastly similar to the original American version of the game and the player with the most money at the end of the game is victorious. To build a garden, paying close attention to the numbers on the cards is important. To play a card into a garden, that card must have a number higher than the highest number in the garden or lower than the lowest number in the garden. If it falls in between these two numbers it cannot be played into that garden, but it can create a different garden. This keeps the relatively in depth game constantly moving and keeps each player interested right from the outset.

For the quality section of the Ohanami review, we award a very good 9 out of 10. This is a small box game. In board games, it is pretty true (with exceptions) that the smaller the box, the simpler and less intense it is. That is the case with these types of easy to the table games. With that said, just because you are not some intense thing, doesn’t mean you are not as high of quality.After round 3: score 3pts for each blue card in your gardens AND 4pts for each green card AND 7pts for each grey card AND score your pink cards based on an arithmetic progression. Seriously, though, when you consider that Horrified features 7 asymmetric Monsters all with different tasks, defeat conditions, and abilities, you probably think that there is no way it could be a game to introduce non-gamers to board games. But everything is detailed so well and so clearly outlined in the rulebook and on the components that you could read the rulebook once — and then never again. The game is also a breeze to learn and teach, which is exactly what you want from a gateway game. The party had just begun. The guests included Wolf Man, Dracula, and his son?
