When playing classical music, the HD681 will surprise you with its breadth, clarity and dynamic presence. The usual suspects that get these headphones send to them for reviews always have positive things to say. The Superlux HD-681 features circumaural ear cushions which, although they cannot be rotated or tilted, provide a very comfortable fit. For the most part HD 681’s perform well at delivering consistent frequency response to a wide variety of listeners.

If you can live with that and can EQ them to your taste, they'll probably make a better choice for your music. It should be mentioned that the Superlux HD-681 headphones only deliver a small amount of sound isolation in each direction, which means that they are not the optimum choice for FOH applications. com/headphones/reviews/logitech/g533-wireless-gaming-headset measure really well, altho that midrange is a bit funky looking, I am thinking if these could be a better choice than the CM MH751, between the big 5k dip of the MH751 and the smaller but wider 1-2k dip of these Logitech's I wonder which would be the bigger issue, and which is the best choice. Its design makes it sit nicely in a stand , and we just have some plastic covering the cardboard where the HD681 sits. So I should start by saying that if you don’t like the DT990 cause you find them too bright, you might have to pass (or equalize) the HD681.

I consider this as a must for monitor headphones tough, wich are use exactly to be able to calibrate every sounds and instruments in your mix. On the flipside, unlike some closed headphones (cough, Skullcandy, cough) the Suerplux keep the bass on control, though they do lack some of the extension of closed headphones (the open design prevents this).

Intrigued by their positive review, especially their opinion of the sound quality / fidelity, I decided to purchase a whole set of them.The self-adjusting headband provides the listener with a great fit and these durable headphones can even be twisted for use in single ear monitoring. What is more, these headphones' impedance of 32 ohms means that they can deliver a respectable level of volume when paired with mobile devices, making the HD-681 ideal for both studio work and listening to music for pleasure.

So when working with HD 681 and the model average calibration, keep in mind that bass and treble may not translate as well. As for the sound image presented by these headphones, the HD681 gives you the feeling of actually being on stage with the artists.I am patiently waiting the arrival of a set of these which I purchased online on Wednesday and I have great expectations. Also my 681's are quite heavily modded and have a filter to reduce the treble energy to the degree I've found pleasing. Lets face it, some Grados look like radio operator headphones from the 1920s, but they are graded on their sound first. If there is one criticism I would say that decay time is rather long on some tracks and again we put this down to the driver speed as mentioned with the mids.

Not going to compete with high end headphones (but snapping at the heels of phones costing 5-10x as much). The soundstage has great depth and positioning with great instrument separation, very rarely coming off congested. The bass felt like it leaked very slightly into the mids, but a small EQ down at 100hz cleared it up nicely. The bass is very much present, but it is not presented in a controlled manner as it interferes and sometimes overpowers the mids in other songs.It do not use the kind of glossy plastic that is easy to break and I think durability isn't that bad because I do not instinctively fear to drop it on like with other plastic headphones I have. Then I hold the headphone, surprisingly light weight and it fits my head quite well (my head is quite small). They come with two pairs of pads, the faux leather ones that already come with the headphones aren't very good) I've mixed on these headphones for over 5 hours in a row with only mild discomfort.
