Not what I would call great literature but it would keep you occupied on the beach if you had nothing else. Another sweltering month in Charlotte, another boatload of mysteries past and present for overworked, overstressed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan.

It was so sad that I am so glad I didn't read it at work or at the park or some other public place. Then we come to the emotional section which did nothing for me, yes it was sad but I didn't have that gut wrenching connection to the characters but I continued to see how things played out. Clear your diary as this book will take over your life until you have finished it - a fantastic read, I loved it! Throw in the fact that this book almost felt like a step by step on her everyday life. What she done all day including the looks she got from their cat which was constantly annoying. This cat was no sonic.

So many books are sold as "you won't want to put it down" but I can honestly say I couldn't stop reading this one!! It was captivating from the outset as you just couldn't help but need to know what exactly had happened. I like the fact the story was told in the past and present as the story came together piece by piece and even as I read and thought I knew what was going to happen the story gave another twist. I'll be amazed if this doesn't get made into a film. Start reading now!!

I can count on one hand the number of books that made me cry, but this one tops them all. Several times I had to put the book down because I couldn't see through my tears. But even though I enjoyed it there were things that I didn't like all that much. Mostly the pacing of the story that sometimes felt a little too rushed. Like the heroine was constantly having these events happen one after the other, like break ins, fight clubs, and family drama. It made it feel never ending and from one problem to the next there wasn't enough time always to really see the effects. And then there were the real life author references that honestly felt really weird. The heroine and hero reading together was really cute but bringing up an actual book by Kandi Steiner and even going into detail about it was just odd in my opinion.
