Once all of the batons have been thrown the opposing team (Team B) has to gather up any kubbs that have been knocked down. Obviously, if there are no field Kubbs (because the opponents managed to topple every field Kubb during their turn), then the nearest Kubb to the King is on the baseline and so the throwing line IS the baseline. The original Kubb game is made of plantation grown rubber wood and is a well known game not only in Sweden but throughout Europe. Another theory is that this game of skill was invented in the 20th century in the small provincial town of Kubbe in central Sweden.

Another rule sometimes used says that players are only allowed to throw at the King if they have 2 or more sticks remaining. If then the kubb still lands in the wrong place Team A can then place it any chosen spot on the pitch but is must be at least one baton away from the king kubb. If either team leaves field kubbs standing, the kubb closest to the king now represents that side’s baseline, and throwers may step up to that line to throw at their opponent’s kubbs.
