SpinFit CP360 Eartips. Not being a fan of foam ear tips, I tend to use either the included ear tips or SpinFit. When we got the Sony WF-1000XM3 truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones in for review, I was ecstatic to see SpinFits CP360 ear tips fitted. The SpinFit CP100 are the basic model, which by shape and feel most closely resemble “standard” eartips. They are conical (a wide ogive, to be exact) and offer a diameter of 4 mm which fits most earphones (including the Campfire Audio Vega 2020 and Dorado 2020, the Thieaudio Legacy 4, the Tin HiFi T2), but which is also a bit tight for earphones with larger nozzles. Still, they’re the ones that will probably fit the larger number of earphones, as they do just fine even with those that have a smaller nozzle like the Legacy 4. They come in 5 different sizes: SS (XS would have probably been better), S, M, L and XL.

They are equivalent to the CP100 in every respect, except for sound: the new material makes treble a bit stronger overall. SpinFit CP145 Here are the wired earphones I have in my collection and tried them with the CP100. Model W1 offers a similar fit to CP145, but updated materials and design to generate less pressure inside the ear while delivering a secure fit and seal.

Final Thoughts

The big difference in most of the models is the size of the bore for the IEM nozzle. Generally you want a tip that’s easy to get on, but not TOO easy to make sure that you have a tight secure fit. The more secure the fit, the better your isolation will be, but if you go with something that’s too snug you’ll risk damaging the eartips when you take them on or off. The CP100 puts a litte more bass into the Sony XBA-4. And since the XBA-4 is already strong in the tweeter, this ear tip offers better musical balance. SpinFit CP100 with Sony XBA-4 Sennheiser IE 300 with SpinFit CP100 That preamble aside, the CP-500 has a soft flange along with a similarly soft bore. The flange also has a somewhat oily texture to it, resulting in a fit that’s not the most secure and requires a bit of a deeper insertion. It’s a very comfortable eartip but isolation is worse than the CP-100/145/360. This is an eartip I’d recommend if you’re someone who’s into “tip-rolling” (as in, experimenting with various eartips). The CP-500 provides interesting results with many IEMs.

Where foam tips are concerned, however, the True Fidelity tips provided with 64 Audio models as well as the Marshmallow tips by Campfire Audio were found to be most comfortable. Interestingly, the SpinFit single-flange tip was more comfortable than MandarinE’s Symbio W hybrid tip (an ear tip with a thin layer of silicone coating an inner thermoplastic memory-foam core). Some may find that tips are a shade crisp for their tastes and hence foam tips may be more their flavor. However, trialling and experimenting with different combinations will aid the quest to find the perfect sound. The SpinFit CP145 are much like the CP100, but they have a smaller top so they go better inside the ear. The difference is not dramatic in terms of size, but the fit is quite different. The general shape is again ogival, with a height of of 10.1 mm and a with of 13.5 mm. With an inner diameter of 4.5 mm, the CP145 can fit earphones with nozzles up to 5.5/6 mm in diameter: that means that even IEMs with larger soundports, like the Tin HiFi P2, Shanling ME500 Platinum, Fearless Audio S10 Genie or Moondrop A8 will fit correctly, though the silicone will stretch a bit. There are just three sizes: S, M and L. As they get the deepest inside the ears, the CP155 are also the ones I’ve found myself the least comfortable with on the first try. It takes around five minutes for the silicone to warm up and for my ears to adapt, but then it’s almost as if I wasn’t wearing them at all. Due to their shape they offer an almost perfect seal, so if the earphones you’re wearing provide any isolation at all you probably won’t hear a thing of what’s around you without needing active noise cancellation. Soundwise, the CP155 are neutral and I can’t hear significant differences when compared to the CP100. If anything, the better seal allows bass to get further down, but it’s a minimal difference which is highly dependent on the earphones you are listening to. SpinFit CP240 Munich, Germany. SpinFit’s tips are an excellent addition to an audiophile’s inventory with real sonic improvements, exceptional ergonomics and a transparent delineation of sound. The SpinFit silicone tips especially excel in texturing & resolve of the bass, articulacy of the midrange and a detailed yet restraint treble section.Among the rest, the CP-360 should be in your stable if you’re into TWS earphones, they are one of the few TWS-specific eartip after all. The CP-500 is a specialist eartip that can be unpredictable, and being the widest-bore tip in Spinfit’s lineup offers something unique. Finally, the CP-240 is something I couldn’t find a use for and the CP-800 didn’t perform as well as the tips it’s supposed to replace (for me). So these two don’t excite me as much. The CP100 provides an easy fit on an IEM with smaller to medium sized nozzle like 64 Audio’s Universal fit offerings. CP145

By their inherent design, silicone models are generally inferior to foam when it comes to prolonged listening sessions. However, unlike some other silicone models, the SpinFit single-flange tips do not irritate or feel particularly obstructive. The use of premium-grade silicone here has definitely aided a more ergonomic listening experience and other companies should follow suit. Exceptional clarity with good treble extension. Soundstage is one of the biggest I have heard. Vocal presentation is forward. Can get sibilant when matched with bright earphones. As for sound, my impression is that they are quite neutral and I can’t hear significant differences compared to other tips like the CP100. This is actually desirable, so kudos to SpinFit! The SpinFit CP100 works across a range of in-ear monitors including but not limited to: the 64 Audio Tia Fourte, 64 Audio Tia U18 as well as InEar’s ProMission X and Campfire Audio’s Andromeda 2020. In general, they offer improved levels of transparency and a linear neutrality compared to other silicone tips. However, their crisp nature does mean that they are a bit leaner when evaluating note size. Thus, they may not be the best choice for already thin and exacting IEMs. If it is plastic sealed when you get it, it should remain plastic sealed. Some types of goods such as CIEMs and custom cables cannot be returned.

The SpinFit CP800 were the only ones I could not try due to not having compatible earphones: they are made for super-thin nozzles like those used by Shure, Westone and Etymotic. At just 2 mm wide, the inner bore is too narrow to house earphones with 4 mm nozzles (believe me, I tried). I will update this review as soon as I lay my hands on compatible earphones, but I expect them to behave exactly like all other eartips in this list. SpinFit CP1025 While the SpinFit silicone tips do not provide the most bass impact or authority, they offer a higher level of refinement compared to the Symbio W, Shure Olive & Final Audio E-tips. The Symbio W hybrid tips offer the most contrast here with a more impactful bass and energetic treble. However, the SpinFit tips really master the treble with detail and control that the other silicone tips do not possess. SpinFit told me that the silicone in this case is “edible grade”, so even though it’s probably best to not put these over your pasta you probably won’t have any allergic or otherwise adverse reactions to it.
