I rarely give a book 5 stars because I always think, to do so would say this is perfection, and no matter how much I've enjoyed a novel in the past, I always think that maybe it was lacking in something that may have given it a little more edge, but this was perfection and a joy to read, it kept me on the edge of my chair right the way through. Now, Battlefront 2 is a game that fans of the Star Wars franchise keep coming back to with the multiplayer, but its surprisingly good single-player mode is also worth playing. For some, CS GO became an e-sport, for others, a tool to collect or trade extremely valuable skins, and for most, a way to spend free time. For those who want to know 'how it is' out there in the Wild East and want to sample the kind of situations that never get reported on the news, this is for you.

You can, of course, try to form your own team and operate on your own terms, but that's not what this game is about. Put it this way, Danny, threatening the Imam Ali Mosque is like waving a giant blood-red flag with bells on it in front of a seriously histrionic bull with a persecution complex.What followed was nothing less than a small contingent of soldiers trying to operate to mission intentions while virtually under siege from heavily armed militia. That essential element, combined with formidable training and intelligence made them the fighting force they were in this protracted battle. Lots of good sniper lore here, even more interesting stuff about how men cope under those kind of prolonged battle conditions. However, those with enough patience to endure the bugs can enjoy the brutal combat system with amazingly unique weapons. Escape from Tarkov is one of the most hardcore, uncompromising online shooters, and as such – still far from its final version.

Unfortunately, events elsewhere had led to an explosion of violence in many areas, and the battalion walked right into a hornet's nest that somebody else had just kicked! In fast-paced matches, a player armed with a sniper rifle is just part of his team, so they stay close to their companions and usually have to be constantly on the move. Only it's a very illusory feeling; other players are there, some even look like AI bots, if they just enter a match as a faction of local Scavs, and sooner or later, there will be a quick and brutal exchange of fire. And even if we do – there's a good chance that the commander will immediately remove such a delinquent from the squad! Somewhat inevitably, considering the setting, the action comes thick and fast, making this a modern-day version of the Battle of Rorke's Drift in the Zulu War - and it's just as exciting.The author stated very clearly he liked the action in Iraq and was interested in fighting for his country. The stealth genre provides an alternative gameplay loop to all-out action games, rewarding patience, timing, and strategic thinking. What's remarkable here is the honest pleasure in the execution of combat skills expressed by Dan Mills. To begin with, I have believed from the start that instead of going on about how the Iraqis were shooting at them, the US and British troops should have got the hell right out of Iraq. Some times the humour made me laugh out loud but also there were times when the shit hits the fan and I become worried for Dan and his men.

The game's big selling point is the raw, traditional look of the era's weapons, although those who prefer a more shiny look will also find something for themselves in the skin collection. The game brings some impressive locations that were rendered using photogrammetry to provide high image fidelity, and players can benefit from the great freedom of action during missions. Dan Mills and his platoon of snipers fly into southern Iraq, part of an infantry battalion sent to win hearts and minds. I don't hesitate in giving this book 5 stars, but I repeat my warning: if you are sensitive, don't read it.

The Sniper Elite games are notably budget titles compared to AAA military stealth games like Metal Gear Solid 5. The first problem during a mission is smuggling the sniper rifle into the location, and then discreetly reaching a convenient vantage point, which can be more challenging than landing the shoot itself. When your job after years and years of training, is to really in the end to kill people, I do begin to understand how important the training and discipline to reach that goal is, and I suspect it is what keeps them sane. The sniper in Escape from Tarkov consciously chooses a rifle with a scope, goes to a point that provides a convenient view of the high traffic areas – and waiting! Despite being 8 years old, Arma 3 still remains the most compelling and rich in content soldier simulator on the market.

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Sniper One by Dan Mills, read by Josh Dylan. At the beginning of the story his platoon does a tour around the Cimic house and the city they will be in.

Thoroughly enjoyed this first-hand account of the British siege of Al Amarah and what they went through to hold that position. This book is more about small unit combat leadership than the moral dilemma of taking someone's head off at 300 meters. It remained one of the most satisfying weapons in the game and gave players a feeling of empowerment that one should feel when sniping enemies from a hidden location.
