There are a couple of weak parts and I wish, on a personal level, that he had been more flattering in his portrayal of librarians but these are really minor issues in what is otherwise an engaging story full of magic and adventure. Since there was a big storm predicted for today, I decided to pick a quick read from my shelves and hide in bed until it was over. Still, the writing is fairly nice, if not a little too elevated for a children's story, and the ending was quite beautiful.
