I don't have any evidence for this other than the number of pairs advertised in US magazines just after the end of the War and the desire of the Light intensive 60mm lenses with variable dioptre setting and flexible eye cups ideal for use with eye wear I regularly chamber "Kropatschek" blanks and Handloads in my Guedes ( both for range shooting and Film use.) . No problems. One reason this is credible, is that from my own experience, I have found several of these older rifles with the claw mounts to have the bases installed so precisely, that scopes built by one maker would swap with those installed by another gunsmith, years apart. So fitting a new scope would be quite easy.

x 60 is a useful combination of low magnification and aperture. At that price they might be worth a punt. I also had a pair of the Lidl Bresser 10 x 50's and they are not at all bad (compared to most of the dire cheapies in circulation). The 1888 GeW Commission Rifle, which was not designed by Mauser, fired a 227-gr bullet at about 2,100 fps from a 29.5 inch barrel. Some of the later confusion on velocities comes from the older 1898 WWI Mauser and the shorter barrel K98 of WWII.Drill holes do not need to be cleaned during vertical installation (ceiling and floor). For floor fixings the hole must be drilled 3x drill hole diameter deeper.

Particularly after Germany invaded Russia in 1941 the Wehrmacht needed binoculars that could withstand cold temperatures. My thoughts are that these were made after the War for the surplus The in-focus exit pupil is 6mm. The diamond pattern is very noticeable with the screen defocussed inside the focal length.x8 seems an unusually low mag for 60mm binos? Is this correct? x8 gives an exit pupil 7.5mm [=60/8] and unless you're in your teens and 20s your eye may not open up to these dimensions even when full dark adapted. If your iris is <7.5mm diam then effective the OG is stopped-down below its full 60mm aperture and the binos are ineffective and IMHO useless for any purpose for old guys and in full daylight when the eye stops down anyway useless for anyone. ;-(

Fontana Blanco Matt are marble-effect, matt porcelain floor tiles. They are light grey in colour with darker grey veins running throughout. Being high quality porcelain these tiles are hard wearing, so will be suitable for use anywhere within your home and can withstand heavy foot traffic areas. In addition it was made from grey or dirty glass. I.e. the glass probably had clay impurities in it. There's been discussions in the refractors forum that some refractors benefit from using a prism diagonal instead of a mirror. The aberrations are said to cancel some of the objective's aberrations. Of course this is at much higher f/# than most bins. One way or the other, the effect of the prism should be taken into account in the overall optical design and will be much greater at low f/#. An interesting thread. Yes, from what I have read, the "computers" were mechanical, designed and built on precise mechanical gears, much like a large and precise analog watch in the "old days" of the Swiss. But a mount for these beasts is arguably a good idea. I just wonder how much use it is, on a rolling and pitching U-boat, in the middle of the stormy north atlantic.When it comes to Lidi binocular, you should try them in store before you buy. When I bought my 10x50 in Lidi, I tried three and only one of them is acceptable. The other two is out of collimation. But getting a good bargain seems to be inherent in most of us even though it is not the bargain we thought it was.
