The most suitable compressors for airbrushuse need to adhere to basic requirements, oil free, moisture and dust free at the point of output to the airbrush. It took about 10 secs for the pressure to drop - this was with the air pressure regulator set to maximum which is much higher than would normally be used.Having hooked up the compressor to my usual airline/airbrush I switched the unit on and checked for air leaks - none seemed present. It does the job, the reservoir gives you a nice smooth flow of air, and it just tops itself up when your tank starts getting empty. This compressor is suitable for commercial spraying, cosmetics, nail studios and Tattoo designs, illustrations, hobbies and modelling. Adjusting the regulator is by lifting the black knob on the top and rotating clockwise to increase and anti-clockwise to reduce pressure. For me, and the way I work, the flow from a reservoir feels much smoother, and fitted my style better so its worth testing out some setups if you can.

Pump motor seems hot too the touch after a couple of hours use but not not enough for the thermal cut-out to kick in. I have tried it with 4 airbrushes, the two 'freebies' that came with the compressor, the trigger model I have also reviewed and my very ancient Aerograph AE.As you can imagine, using cans of air isn’t ideal if you want control over that pressure that’s coming down the tube into the airbrush. These things are fairly common as tanning compressors, and have a patented (I think) Iwata regulator making sure the pressure doesn’t drop while you’re spraying. Reasonably quick to charge up the tank, especially as you can start spraying before the tank fully charges up if you are that impatient.
