Have listened to it a few dozen times and it has me going "WHY WASN'T THAT SONG LONGER?!?" eg Exiled On Hoy, Lard Ass, etc, so that's a good sign, and along with SCW and Drunken Songs, has been a very good period of quality music from our Cope. Hopefully there'll be a tour! I know it's been a while since it was released, monarchs have fallen, well, one, but time for my pennies worth, on the album, and possible merchandise ideas? Or the weirdly upbeat, sprightly rhythm and thoughts of "Prodigal Sun" and not think: Hey, this coulda been a huge hit in 1990CE?personally I really liked 'Einstein' considering how it leads on from 'Immortal' - Glad you mentioned 'Drunken Songs' as I've only literally just received the CD from Merchandiser then found out it also had a Vinyl release - still that 18 and a half minute of 'On The Road To Tralee' is quite something!!! I tend to see Einstein as the intermission between the two halves of the album, maybe if it was faster I would enjoy it, but I've just never liked it, but the rest of Self Civil War is brilliant. Or "Lard Ass Of The Year," with its soaring (and falling) glam dicenn and it's abrupt US radio edit that makes it even more memorable?
