And by painted, I mean it’s been sitting part done on a series of shelves, tables and containers for the better part of a decade now. Again, we got so caught up in the adventure we forgot all the help we could have used from treasure and cancelling events. The quest can be replayed with friends and in general it's nice to have a game that involves the whole friend group.

If you do take it, you have the option of spending some of your hard-earned monster kills to cancel it and if you let it happen it might be a question of whether to take damage or suffer a different effect. It plays essentially the exact same way the 2nd time through because all of the monsters are the same until you get to whatever the final monster or challenge is (this part does vary based on scenario). The light rules weight and the well-known nature of the license also leaves ample scope for both official and fan-generated extra content to be squeezed in. We just naturally fell into a habit of not making ridiculous requests and not allowing weird interpretations. Pitting wits and muscle against spiders, wolves, zombies, gargoyles and wraiths among others and ultimately the villains of the adventures, flesh golems, dracoliches and the Master of Ravenloft himself to name a few.Some mention that it's easy to learn and fairly quick to set up, while others say that it can be difficult at times, and the different quests demand different strategies. There are strategies the group can use, as mentioned above, but the whole group has to stick to them and even then things can change rapidly.

Not only is it random, but it’s actually pretty unlikely to happen with ten-odd different monsters in the game and in any case I don’t think it really makes up for the synergy of abilities you get having more characters playing together.
