What particular manufacturer is for you will come down to audio integrity and aesthetic taste differences. Without showing too much bias, know that it is worth doing your research on what is available, and ideally, listen to the options at a local store. The Yamahas have frequency controls for room correction too – Room Control filters to help compensate for speaker-boundary effects and a companion High Trim filter to adjust for an overly damped or live room. While these are simple to adjust and experiment with – there aren't too many options – you don't get anywhere near the depth you get with the KRK EQ. Essentially it boils down to the fact that we would be happy to use them as studio monitors if we had to. The additional customization options are also very neat. The KRK Rokit RP5 G4 has a punchy lower end that makes it a great choice for DJ studios and many artists. The front-facing bass port on the Rokit RP5 G4 studio monitor has added a feature for cleaning up sound in the low end. You can feel that the sound quality is right and full, as well as clean and clear with no distortions or 'loud color'. The bass quality is just right for a recording studio space and even home listening. You will not even need to add any other subwoofer if you do not need a strong pounding bass.

The speakers that come installed in the Rokit RP5 G4 are not hi-fi speakers. They, therefore, color the sound just a little. Despite this, the fact that they are not hi-fi speakers makes them the best option for monitoring, even better than some of the best-specialized headphones in the game. Note that these monitors are not also designed to fill a room with sound. They are simply near-field monitors. The further you go, the lower the audio will sound. The KRK Rokit 5 G4's EQ extras won it two categories – features and setup. This extra flexibility to tweak the speakers to your room – and its fantastic implementation – just seems so head and shoulders above what the Yamaha offers (and just about anything else at this price point) that it almost makes it a done deal for the KRKs.Moving up in size, the KRK Rokit RP7 increases the enclosure size and uses a 7” woofer. There are now 145 watts of power available, with a maximum sound pressure level of 110dB. Most smaller studio spaces (and not so small!) won’t need any more than this. Another claim is that the KRK Rokit RP5 G4 line series minimizes listening fatigue, which is an important factor. That is not very easy to compare and verify, but as the other claims seem to be based on truth, we take it that long sessions should be more enjoyable on the G4 models than on the G3 speakers.
