HIFI Walker H2 vs Sufans F20 (125 USD vs 125 USD) - We have two DAPs that people say are the same quite often, but I actually feel like they are made by the same people, but they are not made the same.

H2 sports an EQ function with 10 EQ bands, each with +10 db / -10 db abilities, but it has one custom profile that you can define, the rest being predefined. I have a HiFi Walker DX Sport, and you cannot fast scroll, and even if you could, you cant see the screen in the daylight so you wouldn't know where you were in scrolling anyway! My first one, a Sony, decided to destroy its battery (and then destroy the replacement battery that I bought) by shorting it out. I want the player to stop playing when it has finished playing the last song in a folder, but it proceeds to the next folder. On a brief test, the WALKER was able to drive them extremely loud with no distortion or hardening, so should you wish to wreck your hearing by listening at stadium rock levels, you can also do that.Despite the device looking a bit spartan, it has a high quality Zinc Alloy Shell with CNC processing and molding, along with a rather large 1500mAh Li-Ion battery, that can hold for about 7 hours of battery life if enjoying flac files, and at a medium-high volume, which I consider to be a fair amount. For testing the Hifi Walker H2 Touch, I’ve used a large collection of headphones and IEMs, including 7Hz Salnotes Zero, Letshouer D13, OLLO s5X, OLLO S4x, Westone MACH 40, Westone MACH 60, IMR Dark Matter, IMR Ozar, Audeze MM-500, OneOdio Monitor 80, and Oriveti OV800. You forgot to mention that the range of the Bluetooth is not very long, on mine I can’t even go half way across my Bed Room without the audio cutting out.

All in all, the firmware works ok, it is not the fastest, but it is not slow either, it doesn’t seem to have big holdups, and despite some people complaining about some features not being fully stable, I have not experienced a crash yet. I know I’m using some wide sounding headphones to begin with, with Ananda, but H2 doesn’t constrain their soundstage in any way, and it delivers a really holographic presentation with them, with a good separation between instruments, and on songs like Fever The Ghost – The Source, the stereo effects and panning is really good. As dconrad has mentioned it's clearly a different PCB, so I did a little bit of digging, and based on the firmware file, it appears that the MECHEN M30 uses some sort of Actions Semiconductor SoC.The playlists are different for Spotify, Tidal and Youtube, and based on the songs I enjoy and are available on each! The sound quality is truly excellent; suffice to say that it can generally be characterised as neutral, balanced, transparent: i.

The top of the DAP has just the on / off button, while the side has the volume buttons and the microSD slot. I find that in reality I find songs much faster and can browse the H2 Touch faster, although the simpler design is less interesting to look at than that of F20 which has more buttons and a more complex layout.My tests include loud listening, mostly redbook flac files, and a lot of changing the songs in between, so they may not reflect the ability of the DAP if you're a more tame user. There’s a back button for navigating the menus, and one M button that also works as a select button.
