Due to unprecedented demand, Flatley is scheduled to make a special appearance from 13 to 24 March at the Dominion Theatre, paving the way for new young superstar James Keegan, who will be performing the lead role of Lord of the Dance. I have been looking forward to watching this show for a long time and being a tap dancer myself can appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into this form of dancing. Recorded at the London Palladium theatre in 2014, the show features a new musical score composed by Gerard Fahy and some of the world's most talented dancers including James Keegan, Mathew Smith and Alice Upcott. They were hand-picked and trained by Flatley himself and have starred in the West End and UK touring shows of Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games. You can’t help but have a big smile on your face when the full ensemble cast fill the width of the stage at St David’s Hall and with their legs kicking and tapping in perfect sync.Along the way the Spirit meets different dancers as well as a Black Swan like love triangle that threatens to turn the head of Ireland’s saviour, the Lord of the Dance himself.

The ostensible hero, the Lord of the Dance, loses his prize belt to a cyborg-like Dark Lord and wins it back with the help of a Little Spirit, a small and irritating gymnast who looks as if she were drizzled with glue and then rolled in sequins. The main reason to see Michael Flatley’s “ Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games,” which opened on Tuesday at the Lyric Theater, is to watch Michael Flatley dancing.

Last week Michael Flatley welcomed press to the London Palladium where his final West End show, entitled Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games, opens next Monday (1st September) for a limited run.

They all managed to hold attention of the audience due to their frequent costume changes and the cleaver projections that portrayed Ireland as an Idyllic place filled with Unicorns and rainbows. With new music by composer Gerard Fahy, this ‘extraordinary and supremely stirring show’ (Daily Telegraph) combines the best of tradition with all the excitement of new music and dance. Synopsis: Live performance of the Irish dance and musical production created, choreographed and starring Michael Flatley.The plot follows a little Spirit with a magic flute who battles against evil to save Ireland from being taken over by evil cyborgs. As the first half of the show begins the audience are greeted with a projected Michael Flatley and a giant clock alluding to the opening of the show. This Irish-American step-dancing star, now 57, has announced that he will retire from performing at the end of this eight-week run. A blond good girl fights with a brunette seductress for the hero’s affections, but don’t expect the virgin-whore dichotomy to hold.
