Ownership of a Battlewagon marks an Ork out as particularly prestigious or 'flash'. A typical Battlewagon owner is most likely a Nob of some description, though various Oddboyz may have access to Battlewagons at certain times. Warbosses often mount themselves and their immediate retinue in Battlewagons when travelling to battle, and may have more than one if their retinue is of sufficient size. [1] Battlewagons – what’s not to love? Lets take a look around the Orky showroom and see what an aspiring Warboss should get.

I’ve long been a fan of Orks, and as any Ork worth his green hide knows, “Red ‘uns go fasta!” So, we will be painting this Battlewagon as either a Kult of Speed vehicle, or simply your favorite clan’s Battlewagon with a Red Paint Job. I’ve gone ahead and clipped, cleaned, and sub-assembled the model to allow me to start painting with as few basecoats as possible. So, without further ado, on to the tutorial proper. Ok, I know this isn’t too far from a normal Battlewagon list, the core is pretty much the same, Battlewagons with Loota support. While this is a list building exercise, it also shows more importantly how to setup those Battlewagons correctly, I’ve lost count how many lists I see which have multiple big shootas and kill kannons etc on the Battlewagons. I’ve decided to use a sub-assembly method of painting this miniature, and the reasons are two-fold. One – I want to minimize the number of times I basecoat pieces, and two – it allows for maximum interchangeability depending on what I want my model kitted out with. Ork Battlewagons are as diverse in construction and weapons complement as the Greenskins who create them. A Battlewagon always possesses a heavy chassis, sometimes salvaged from other suitable vehicles such as the Imperium's tanks or heavy armoured transports. Others will be custom-built vehicles created from scratch by an Ork Mek and his assistants. We are a small team of Warhammer Enthusiasts and miniature collectors, hoping to support and further promote the hobby.The fighting forces of the Imperium, Orks, Squat Homeworlds and the Eldar all have their own unique design philosophy which determines the appearance and tactical role of their fighting vehicles. All of these widely differening vehicles are covered by these new rules. Units that disembark from a TRANSPORT model that made a Normal move this phase count as having made a Normal move themselves; they cannot move further during this phase. Such a unit also cannot declare a charge in the same turn, but can otherwise act normally in the remainder of the turn. A Waaagh! and Speedwaaagh! each have two stages. The first stage is active from when the Waaagh! or Speedwaaagh! is called, and lasts until the start of your next Command phase. When the first stage ends, the second stage starts, and lasts until the start of your subsequent Command phase. After this point, the Waaagh! or Speedwaaagh! is no longer active, and has no further effect. Calling a Great Waaagh! is treated as calling both a Waaagh! and a Speedwaaagh! at the same time. Both are active from when a Great Waaagh! is called, and each stage starts and finishes as described above. I prefer the Deffkopta as the alpha strike ability is golden, plus it makes a excellent distraction unit that can contest objectives later on in the game. The only downside to Deffkoptas is they give away an easy kill point. I always have my Koptas with twin-linked rokkit and buzzsaw, it’s the only way to do it, and they cost 70 points a pop.

RPJ gives that extra 1″, it doesn’t sound a lot, but when you’ve got the proper deffrolla kit on your Battlewagons then it’s going to help. Plus that little bit extra will help for an army which needs to be in assault.When a unit disembarks from a TRANSPORT model, set it up on the battlefield so that it is wholly within 3" of that TRANSPORT model and not within Engagement Range of any enemy models. If, for any reason, a disembarking model cannot be set up, that model’s unit cannot disembark.

Once you have selected an eligible unit to declare a charge, you must select one or more enemy units within 12" of it as the targets of that charge. The targets of a charge do not need to be visible to the charging unit.

Like other Ork vehicles a Battlewagon continues to be kustomised and grows to become an ever larger contraption as its owners add more weapons, extra fighting gantries and new engines, until a Battlewagon has grown into a true Battle Fortress. A Battle Fortress is a massive Battlewagon, expanded to the size and armament capacity of an Imperial Guard super-heavy tank. Such vehicles are favorite mounts for the most powerful of Ork Warbosses.

Stikkbomb Chukka - A stikkbomb chukka is a crude mechanism that lobs volleys of stikkbombs into the midst of the foe.Deff Rolla - A deff rolla is a great spiked roller that brings the colossal weight of the Battlewagon to bear on anything in its way. If your WARLORD is a WARBOSS, then once per battle, in your Command phase, you can call a Waaagh!. To do so, that WARBOSS must be on the battlefield or embarked on a TRANSPORT that is on the battlefield. If your WARLORD is a SPEEDBOSS, then once per battle, in your Command phase, you can instead call a Speedwaaagh!. To do so, that SPEEDBOSS must be on the battlefield. If your WARLORD is GHAZGHKULL THRAKA, you can instead call a Great Waaagh!. To do so, GHAZGHKULL THRAKA must be on the battlefield or embarked on a TRANSPORT that is on the battlefield.
