Description

The gang pays a visit to their friend Sharon Wetherby, whose Uncle Stuart is cursed by the ghost of Elias Kingston. When Uncle Stuart disappears completely, the gang ventures into the abandoned and allegedly haunted Kingston Mansion next door, in search of him and Elias. The person behind the mask says "I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids" The Scooby-Doo Show – For information on episodes produced in 1978 which briefly aired under the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! title. On their way home from the Malt Shop, Mystery, Inc. encounters the ghost of Mr. Hyde in the rear of the Mystery Machine, who races through the marsh and sneaks into a haunted house. This place turns out to be the residence of Dr. Jekyll (the great-grandson of the novel's titular character), who fears he might be transformed into Mr. Hyde. The gang searches the place for some clues, pegging a housekeeper named Helga as the likely suspect. However, they are pursued at every turn by Mr. Hyde.

The success of the series lead to an hour-long series in 1972 called "The New Scooby-Doo Movies." This series is partially available on DVD, but is not included in this set. The Mystery Inc. gang turn up in the Mystery Machine, en route to or returning from a regular teenage function when their van develops engine trouble or breaks down for any of a variety of reasons (overheating, flat tire, etc.), in the immediate vicinity of a large, mostly-vacated property (ski lodge, hotel, factory, mansion, etc.).

While taking home some leftovers from a pizza parlor, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo come across a violin case filled with counterfeit money. While Scooby gets distracted by a dog puppet named Mata Hari, the violin case is stolen. On September 3, 2019 both series of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, along with the sixteen 1978 episodes, were released on Blu-Ray as Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The Complete Series, the Mystery Mansion Limited Edition. On March 1, 2022 it was re-released as a standard Blu-Ray edition. All the episodes in this collection were remastered in widescreen. We are huge Scooby fans in our house and owned the old DVD versions (they were originally manufactured in 2 separate sets), so I was thrilled they released the ENTIRE show in one set on way less discs. We love all the episodes and the quality of the episodes is a lot clearer/crisper than the original DVDS. All Blu Rays played perfectly on my Sony Blu Ray player.
