On a Eulit Panama it's so comfortable for typing that I end up wearing it most of the time I'm at my desk. What I'm curious about is why so many owners complain about not being able to turn off the power save function - it's a good thing surely, and the watch wakes up instantly when required.

I presume this is due to the fact that the orange one is a year or so older and its internal button cell is beginning to age. While that may suffice in Japan, I’m not sure us Brits appreciate such a confusing and convoluted naming strategy. I recently bought an ever-so-slightly different model in their Lineage line (black face, waterproof to only half the pressure, some other small differences). In Time Mode, you can set the display to display the Day/Date, digital seconds or digital time (hour:minutes). Both watches a roughly the same size (although wear very differently), use the same dial (although not indices) and generally use the same design language throughout.

I almost liked the design of this watch: metal, bracelet, simple display with the essential; but the large/humongous size and the lack of actual numbers on the hours positions was a deal breaker for me. There's a nice bracelet between these two watches, and I even considered putting the M170 bracelet on the M100. As far as I can tell the Lineage series are one of Casio's mid-range offerings, and they all feature at least radio control and solar powered movements. diameter suggests, as that measurement is artificially bolstered by the bulges upon each flank of the watch.

Because I measure the crystal of the M170 at 35mm, and as far as I can tell the crystal on the M100 is a tad smaller. The bottom-right button cycles through 3 modes- day/date, seconds (mirroring the seconds hand), and the current time (mirroring the hour and minute hands). These functions are all accessible via the 3 pushers, which beep with the same noise as other digital Casio’s that you may be familiar with.I own a version of the M100 and totally agree with the advantages of titanium, sapphire, solar, RC, and ana-digi with perpetual calendar.

I struggle to decide which dial i like most, but the lack of lume on the sportier one is very VERY annoying as it would be an easy choice without that problem. Set your local time, switch the Daylight Saving Time function to “auto” and that’s it – unless you leave the watch in the dark for two years or, twenty years hence, change the battery.

The indices are quite unique- they're applied to the chapter ring in such a way that they 'float' over the dial slightly, giving the watch more depth that it would otherwise have. There are no reviews online with the darker LCD, the closest I could find was this quick demo - - and that seems to confirm it's pretty hard to read! It's amazing just how many variations there are for models with the 5161 module from the face colour, negative / positve LCD, Arabic characters on some, to incredibly subtle differences in the design of the hands and indices.I’d never considered any of the more expensive Casio watches before, as I’d always been happy enough with the cheaper models; however, a quick look at the specs gave me food for thought. The clasp is exactly the same as on the M170D, although this particular clasp doesn't seem to line up correctly when you push it closed. There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of information about these watches out there, a few videos here and there and a couple of forum threads. I think I've settled on titanium and sapphire (especially since the mineral face on the orange one has a set of scratches on it; it bothers only me but it does bother me!
