You can transform yourself in all areas of your life by focusing and exposing your mind to a lifestyle that matches where you want to be. This can be tricky for Western minds to get on board with, since a lot of philosophy and religion in the West is about good and evil, promoting the former while suppressing the latter. Takes the Tao Te Ching and transforms it into something we can relate to, with meditations and wonderful "nuggets" of information - bringing this spirituality into my every day life has helped me immensely.let's grant that Dyer is still entitled to his interpretation written during the course of a year he, as I assume from the constant references made in the book itself, spent in Maui (must've been nice). I’ve also decided to revisit a book of mine from 2007, Change Your Thoughts—Change Your Life, based on the year I spent studying and living according to Lao-tzu’s wisdom in the way of the Tao te Ching. Along with the virtues of an enlightened leader, some verses in the Tao Te Ching also teach about the ways in which one can govern peacefully, in the way of the Tao. I plan on re-reading it that way……maybe even moving it up to four days for each verse and writing out my take on it and post it here.

When we desire to see the mystery of the Tao, we must let go of trying to define it in terms of the outer world of form. It's about finding the value in every situation and genuinely believing that things will work out for you. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is ready to move forward, learn how to clean their plate each day of expectations of self and of others, and find true peace and happiness in their life. I need to keep rereading this book (or listen to the audio), but every time I do, I find my thoughts changing.In my opinion, the word "contentment" should not be followed by an exclamation mark (which it is on page 18). If you find that you’re constantly putting yourself down or focusing on the problems, make a conscious effort to look for solutions to those very problems. I'm on my 2nd reread and when i emerge from my morning meditation a few verses of this book, a cup of coffee, some lovely music - gets my day off to a great start making me feel ever so good inside and realizing of my connection. The Tao Te Ching teaches that you should strive to reduce desires, to be more content with what you have and to trust that the Tao has provided you with what you need.
