Alex Cross is the ultimate heroine!!! boy, I have gotten used to bad grammar and apostrophes in the wrong place but this is just too much. Also I think I remember there being used instead of their at the beginning of the revue. Lord help us!! Reply All across the USA, people are showing up dead. A final comment, and also the reason I piped up (ad nauseum) in the first place; the tail end of the preceding article refers to Cross being “the ultimate heroine”. I guess I missed the gender identity crises that apparently plagued Alex Cross’ life throughout the series. I wonder how his public restroom visits while in North Carolina were played out? Wow, talk about a plot twist……(yes, this IS intended to be sarcasm!). Reply In another aside, there’s some nutcase who is going around shooting DC politicians in the ass (literally) and Bree is having a tough time explaining to Metro Police Commissioner Dennison why, she’s unable to prevent and catch the perpetrator. So in essence, there are three mysteries to solve and Alex Cross is requested to assist in all three by Bree and also the VP – for his ex-wife’s murder. Alex has a personal connection to Kay (the VP’s ex-wife), who he’s known for many years. Kay was not just known for her socialite status, but for also being a conscientious person with a heart of gold! This could be read as a stand-alone book but you’d get more out of it if you’ve been following the series. Over the course of years young girls have been raped and murdered, all unsolved at this point. Then a socialite has been found murdered in a car at the local high school along side the Principal of said school. Alex is investigating the socialites case and his wife Bree a detective herself,his long time friend and colleague are investigating the other cases, also ones where the rich are being shot at, in the butt, to be precise. Could these crimes all be connected? When Alex's former patient turns up dead, he sets out to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death. She is an ex-patient of his, and as the blurb speculates - maybe more?
