Considering that the Aura Studio 3 is a 130-Watt speaker with a 100-Watt subwoofer, one begins to get an idea of how serious this speaker is about the low-end. The absolute power of the low-end on this speaker results in something that you can feel rather than just hear. The Harman Kardon Aura Studio 3 has a bottom-heavy base, where 90% of the speaker’s weight is in the base itself. So even if my cats were to pounce on it, it wouldn’t easily topple, also thanks to the six rubber feets on the bottom of the speaker. The speaker is huge and has the capability to disrupt a minimalist lifestyle look in the room. However, the modernist design also makes it an interesting addition to a living space, especially if it is dim-lit. Basic Design The five touch controls can be a bit hard to make out. They are only slightly raised and not illuminated in any way. It is easy to miss the lighting control located in the center on the front of the speaker.

Harman Kardon went with the simple approach for the app. Once your speakers are paired to your smartphone, the app does detect the speaker and it only lets you change two things – volume and bass (this didn’t work for me). It would’ve been nice if I could change the treble, or input my own equalizer settings. Better yet, customise the lighting profiles too. While the bluetooth speaker has low connectivity options and zero portability, we like how the product has a well-balanced and equalized sound. However, the addition of sound customizability would have been great. This thing will fill up not just your living room but spill over to the neighbors and the old married couple across the street. Seriously, this thing is loud. It’s that simple. The performance doesn’t diminish at high volumes, thanks to the DSP technology built into the Aura Studio 3. The Bass With the bottom-heavy design, the speaker is meant to be an aesthetic centerpiece in your living room. While this is a positive for some users, if you’re looking for a portable speaker, it is best to look for a lightweight and compact speaker. Connectivity

The LED lights are not sharp enough to make a considerable difference in a well-lit room. However, if the speaker is playing in a dim room, the lights can work the magic of their own to create the best music experience in their surroundings. The Aura Studio 3 features stunning ambient lighting, and when you first turn it on, you’re greeted by a slowly rising sweep of white light that tells you the speaker has been turned on. This speaker is an effective cabinet sound system paired with beautiful ambient lights.
