Coming to the book, I loved the way it has been written. Corbett has quite an intimate knowledge about jungles and calling sounds of various wild animals. Corbett was immensely fond of the region around Nainital which in those days was a hill station surrounded by dense and untamed forest. In any case, whether or not one agrees with his values, Corbett is a born story-teller. Despite the fact that he obviously lived to tell the tale, one soon finds oneself so lost in the narrative that one wonders how Corbett can possibly escape the hairy situation he is describing.
