The illustrations in this book are sweet and beautiful, making me slightly regret not having bought the paper version. This book is a way to release what's going on inside your head and to keep heading towards the good stuff. It did address her mental health journey however not enough for me to read it because it spoke about her experience - the information was there more to set up her ideas. I'm holding onto this book on one of my overflowing shelves, since the majority of the advice and tips mentioned throughout the chapters I feel will come in very handy for later stages in my life and venturing into the outside world!

There were some parts mentioned which wasn't fully appealing to me since I couldn't relate to those situations. It's hard to say anything negative when someone speaks about their own personal journey, their truth and the things they have found along the way which have helped them. With many millions of followers on social media, she is ranked amongst the world's 250 most influential tweeters. I have made no secret that over the past three- four years I have really battled with my mental health. I received this book as a Christmas gift and gave it a skim read to see if there was anything remotely new or compelling. With workbook elements to help you start and end the day well; get in touch with your creative side; and find peace through written exercises, simple practical ideas and visualisations, these are daily tricks and reminders to help you unlock that inner happiness. I appreciated her discussion of gratitude and that actually it is only by feeling such black emotions that you develop great empathy for other people and make it your mission to try to make the world a more happy place.

Don't read if you are actually in a dark place this happiness might make you worse, read when your out of it and reflecting back and therefore can be as happy and smug as the book. Secondly, at the start it says "Within these pages you’ll hear me talk about what depression feels like for me", this isn't true. This was also the premise for her podcast launched in 2018, Happy Place, and has featured an array of guest such as Ellie Golding, Hilary Rodham Clinton, Jada Pinkett Smith, Gary Barlow, Alicia Keys, and Elizabeth Gilbert amongst others. In fact I suppose, if I'm completely honest, it made me dither a bit about whether to invest in the books. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing what will make you feel better and realising you cannot achieve it.

I'm also getting tired of people going on about the stigma of talking about depression or mental illness. The brand was created from her first book released in 2017, Happy, which was a Sunday Times Bestseller and a silver Nielsen Bestseller.

So when I was scrolling through my library's e-audiobooks offerings, the cover and the author's name grabbed my attention, so I downloaded it. Maybe following each advice would help me being a bit happier and would make readers less vulnerable to depression - if they surround themselves by a support network and build in habits that may prevent the illness from settling in. Fearne's account is wonderfully honest and relatable, and it's also extremely comforting and reassuring too - knowing that even someone in her position is still working through certain issues - issues that a lot of us are working through too. When I think of Fearne Cotton, I always remember her as the loud and confident presenter of morning tv. I also found the location for some of the fill-in activities to be a little awkward, breaking up the chapters and disrupting the flow a little.
