Seeing all the poppies together at once really emphasises the loss the community has suffered over the century, and with many of their descendants still living in the area, it was a poignant exhibition of commemoration. To ensure public safety, road closures will be in effect from approximately 9 pm on Friday 10 November until no later than 5 pm on Saturday 11 November. The Festival was attended by The King and The Queen Consort, The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra. During Remembrance, we unite across faiths, cultures, and backgrounds to remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth.

For some Commonwealth countries, like Canada, it’s a public holiday, but in the UK, Remembrance Day is acknowledged nationally by two minutes of silence at 11am. The Remembrance Day Last Post Ceremony will be broadcast live on the Memorial’s YouTube channel from 4:45 pm AEDT.
