This is a really great book for a new or relatively new vegan who has some experience in the kitchen. The buckwheat flour smelt quite earthy in the packet but this didn’t come across in the flavour; they were lovely and sweet. I’ve tried and tested the fantastic range of dairy free and vegan Easter eggs on offer in the UK this year and in this blog you’ll find a review and rating of them all, along with my top 3! Many of the recipes are standard traditional dishes with vegan processed food substitutes instead of animal products, which I didn't find inspiring at all.

In her first recipe book, Feed Me Vegan, Lucy Watson has you covered with tempting meals from breakfast to supper - as well as all the sweet treats and snacks you need in between! I read some reviews that said the recipes are quite basic and not very imaginative but actually it's exactly what I needed; to learn how to adapt meals we already know and love, to being vegan. all in all, this book is probably good for a starter veggie, but im not, so i need cookbooks with a bit more bite to them. We try and ensure all of our product information is correct and up to date however please do note that products and their ingredients and or allergen information are liable to change. There were a few steps including pre-cooking the macaroni, frying off two types of mushrooms with some herbs and making a béchamel sauce.Crammed full of flavourful and satisfying vegan fare, Feed Me Vegan will have even the most dedicated carnivore asking for seconds.

You would be amazed at the amount to cookery books that get it wrong, be it measurements or method or simply resulting in unappetising food. Take the fairly nondescript sounding ‘Hot Chocolate’ recipe for example, which includes cacao (standard), cinnamon (nice twist), amaretto (oh yeah) and Baileys (GOOD LORD).To be honest that didn’t really bother me, it’s just that they look fluffier in the pan than they turn out to be. I had no idea who the author was having never watched the programme, and I may not have bought it had I known as I may have thought it a gimmick.

The recipe looks like a fairly standard bean chilli, not overly complicated so it might be good for a weeknight meal. The book itself was always going to appeal to me – you can see from the front cover that it’s going to be very ‘Instagrammable’ in its style.Whether you're already a full-time vegan, considering making the switch or just trying to cut down on meats, fish and dairy, this book is sure to add new favourite recipes to your repertoire. None of the recipes are overly daunting which is also great when you’re looking for something quick and easy for dinner. The recipes in this cookbook range from healthy to junk food, which is exactly what I was looking for. If you’re holding my arm behind my back forcing me to say something then I think you could actually get away with cooking this for half the time or just dishing it up and popping it under the grill to melt the cheeze topping.

There are quite a lot of recipes in this book I will try and as with every cookbook, some that don't appeal. I don't really eat sweet food so maybe too much coverage of cakes and sweets for us, but there's lots of main meals, breakfasts and a great selection of sides and sauces to make, and each section is fairly equally weighted. I get the impression that this is targeted towards new plant-based eaters but it will easily appeal to longer-standing vegans too, there really is something for everyone in this book.
