I was expecting some sharp notes but it is sweet oud, amber and musk and some vanilla in it. Not bad at all. Sweet perfume lovers will love it, I just like it because I am chyrpe and citrus perfumes type guy (OMS and Furyo Creed SMW).

It definitely does give off a a bit of a fabric softener type of vibe, (not the overly feminine ones) especially in the dry down. I get completely different notes than what's listed albeit similar to some folks further down below. Despite there being some differences in the notes, Swiss Arabian's Shaghaf Oud smells really similar to me.The dry down is caramel, incense, bit of resins, musk, and beautiful woody notes. There's no oud in the drydown. I love the drydown on my skin. However, I never expected to like this at all! I like the blend of oud, vanilla for sweetness, rose and warm spice. This is one fragrance where I can smell each note individually and also as a whole. Although, the incense still throws me off a tiny bit. What I normally like in a perfume: I enjoy citrus-sweet fresh perfume, especially with verbena and grapefruit notes I was pleasantly surprised with the drydown though. Very unisex and more amber. It reminds me a bit of Prada l'Homme but its not that at all. This is a weird scent in that it doesn't project well but it seems to last a long time. I could smell it on my clothes the next day. But at that price point for this performance, this is seriously good value and puts a lot of well known brands to shame.

Is it a safe blind-buy? Yes, it was a blind buy for me, and I'm loving it. Full price? Yes. For the price and presentation it's an absolute steal, and you'd be doing yourself a favour buying it. Versatility? All year around, doesn't matter the occasions or event - you are going to be smelling nice. Anyway, I have many bottles of SAS , but had I realised they changed the perfume, I would prefer this one. This is definitely a woody, fresh aquatic, with a hint of fruits. I feel like,if you like aftershave smells/shaving cream,you'd really enjoy this one. This would be amazinggg in summer/spring. The smell that whaffs in the air is just wonderful. In my opinion, this would definitely suit a man better than a woman. I would say if you like spicy, woody scents then give this a shot, for the price of this you really can’t go wrong, I can see why so many people enjoy it. It’s well blended, smells expensive and definitely gives off a sexual aura but it’s not the sexy perfume for me. Again, I want to smell that rose!😩 BUT the first time I opened and sprayed it, the top notes smelled like hay/leather, which I’ve read a lot on here. This is actually a very common smell for saffron.I got Oud Mood because it was claimed as a good replacement for Oud Bouquet. It is a good perfume on its own merit to be honest. But curiosity got the best of me so I bought a spray sample of Oud bouquet to see if Oud Mood was really a good contender as a replacement. There is a similarity that all oud-rose-heavy compositions would have. But I can regrettably say that if you try Oud Bouquet once, you will never consider Oud Mood a replacement, but a nice composition on its own. I think it's worth noting that this is my second attempt at writing a review. The first time I wore this, I applied too much, and my opinion was far more negative. Two full sprays was way too much; it really choked me out, and lasted for well over twelve hours. One light spray is more than enough, and lasts at least six hours. As of now, I have the entire opulent line,and here's what I will say. Out of ALL of them, I feel like this will be the most mass appealing to men. This definitely leans more masculine. This feels very fresh, clean, aquatic and almost a shaving cream/after shave type of smell. Dried fruits, rose and oud make up the scent profile, similar to Oud Royal, which I love. However I find that Oud Royal could use a touch more sweetness, which I find in Lattafa Opulent Oud. I have been on the hunt for great vanilla/ouds... I tried Vertus Vanilla Oud, which isn't cheap. But the rhubarb+apple was giving apple cider vinegar. So I resold it.

After the first 10 seconds (where there is a faint aroma of stale wine), this fragrance is incredible value for your money.This to me is the absolute best oud-centric fragrance you can buy, and it's astounding how cheap it is. I honestly think this smells nicer and more expensive than Ombre Nomade. Not that this is a clone of it or anything, but that is often seen as the king of oud-forward scents so I usually compare them to that. This is the fragrance that makes you smell like an Arabian Prince with cash to splash. The Oud is more of a Sandalwood scent, which isn't a bad thing, and is actually a good thing it blends nicely with Incense and Musk at the Bottom Notes. the perfume is definitely sweet from the caramel but layering it with some other vanilla or caramel-based perfumes can help to make it more "acceptable".

Versatility wise, it's good for all weather, anytime of day. People have said it's good for the colder months over the hotter ones, and in some sense they are right, mainly due to the sweet/amber smell you get on the drydown - it's a welcoming and warming scent for the colder months. But the rose, Saffron and Musk make it a good scent for warmer months as the heat expands the scent and lets it explore more of its surroundings for other people to smell.The longevity though is crazy!! This stuff lasts on my skin even after I take a shower while on clothes, is almost forever! Then, I got a travel-size decant of Mancera Oud Vanille. Which is better. I enjoy it, and may get a full-size when the decant starts to run out. Still deciding.
