Apple recommends pairing this power adapter with your 14-inch MacBook Pro (2021) using a USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable to take advantage of fast charging, so you can go from 0 to 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes. Testing conducted by Apple in November and December 2022 using preproduction 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M2 Pro, 12-core CPU, 19-core GPU, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD, and preproduction 14-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M2 Pro, 12-core CPU, 19-core GPU, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD. 16-inch MacBook Pro systems tested with Apple 140W USB-C Power Adapter (Model A2452), and 14-inch MacBook Pro systems tested with Apple 96W USB-C Power Adapter (Model A2166), both with USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable (Model A2363). MacBook Air systems tested with Apple 67W USB-C Power Adapter (Model A2518) and USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable (Model A2363). After thinking about it I would personally take the 67 watt charger because while your laptop is plugged in, you can also charge a device from the laptop via cable.

Apple says M2 MacBook Air can go from zero to 50 percent battery level in around 30 minutes using the new adapter that's "compatible with numerous USB-C devices and charging cables." The company did its testing in April and May 2023 on pre-production 15-inch MacBook Air machines fitted with Apple M2, 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD. It paired the 70W power adapter with a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable to test the fast charging capabilities. But the 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter feels like the real winner here. You can’t fast charge, but you have the flexibility to charge two devices slowly if you’re not in a hurry or one device at a perfectly reasonable speed if not. The 67W charger must be much much much heavier (and also larger) than the new 35W dual port charger.If you need help using your MagSafe cable or adapter, learn what to do if your MagSafe cable or power adapter isn't working. I chose the 35W dual for my M2 Air but on the go I’m using a 20W charger from the iPad. Works great with the MagSafe cable. Quite a bit weight difference in my laptop bag, see own measurements below.

With the whole power adapter to itself, the MacBook Air got to 60 percent in one hour, and a full charge in about two. When sharing with an iPhone, it only got half as much charge in that first hour and a full charge took about 75 percent longer. What did everyone go with here? I don’t think I need the duel charger because I’ll always bring my Phone/watch charger when needed.
