Plastic U channels can be used for many different applications. The most popular application is to use plastic U trim as a capping channel. PVC capping channel is demonstrated in this short video. Some people searching for PVC edging strip need the profile to be similar to a plastic channel but with one leg longer than the other. We offer two possible solutions to this type of plastic edging, which are Plastic J Channels and Plastic Capping. These products are similar and between them offer a range of size solutions for your plastic edging needs. Plastic edge trim – finding the right solution for you We have 45 different sizes of white plastic angle trim, in sizes as small as 5mm going up to the largest at 100mm. Short pre-cut samples are available upon request which are sent out by post. Depending on the nature of your project you need to consider the width of the plastic flat strip that you need. The smallest width of plastic (PVC) flat bar strips range is 6mm and the widest is 142mm.

It depends on whether you choose rigid plastic strips or flexible plastic strips as to how bendable the plastic strip will be. Spacers and gap fillers, as the plastic strips can sit between two edges or slide underneath an edge to fill a gap. Plastic U channel trim is one of our most popular extruded PVC profiles. U shaped plastic trim is used in many different applications across a wide range of industries. The reason it is often called U channel is because it has three sides and is a similar shape to the letter U. However the three sides on the plastic channel are straight with ninety-degree right angles, there are no curves. Plastic U channel has one open side which allows a board or panel to be inserted. Among other sizes, it is available in 5mm, 8mm, 10mm, 20mm, 25mm and 50mm. We have customers from almost every sector who use our right angle PVC trim, our range of customers is very broad. Sectors that use our plastic angle trim include fitout, construction, signage, builders, architects, hoardings, film studios, refrigerated vehicles and shopfitting to name but a few. Typically it is used as corner trim and corner protection because the angle of the trim is 90 degrees so the trim works well on corners and edges. But it can also offer many other solutions. Using a plastic angle as a corner trimWe manufacture PVC angle trim in our UK factory and we are a member of the Made In Britain organisation. They enable buyers and consumers to identify a wide range of British-made products. This material is different to our rigid plastic strips and we encourage you to request samples if you are unsure which material to choose. Solid plastic strips Plastic angle trim is manufactured by an extrusion process. Raw materials in the form of compound are fed into an extruder machine. The compound is heated and the molten polymer is pushed through a die. The die is a tool used in manufacturing to form material to a desired shape of the plastic trim. In this case the shape is a 90-degree L shape angle. The plastic profile is held in shape by formers and goes through water baths as part of the cooling process. The plastic angle trim then hardens upon cooling. The PVC we use for our rigid plastic angle trims If you require thin plastic strip take a look at our range and see if we have a suitable size. It is possible for us to manufacture thin strips of plastic to other specifications but this would be custom production so is subject to much larger production runs, normally around 2000 metres. They will all cover edges but have different numbers and styles of faces depending on your own particular project requirements. Manufactured in the UK Our plastic strips are manufactured from uPVC although it is important to point out the difference between the plastic material we use and the plastic material used by the double-glazing and widow industries. In those industries, additional stabilisers are often added to the uPVC, whereas our material is standard uPVC. The reason this profile is called T section is because it looks like the capital letter T. The first measurement of the T section trim is the external width of the top. The smallest in the range is 13mm and the largest is 100mm. The second measurement is the straight stem which starts from midway along the top of the profile. This is our most popular style of plastic angle trim. The smallest equal size is 5mm and the largest is 100mm with many sizes in between. We also have unequal PVC angle trim if you require one leg to be shorter than the other. Is a plastic angle trim the same as a PVC angle trim?
