According to rumor in the 24th century, Soundwave sat at the center of the Mandala in Iacon for several centuries during one of the times Iacon was under Decepticon control. Trigger Warnings Even though Soundwave is technically just a communications officer in the Decepticon army, he might have some of the greatest Transformer toys of all time. While most Transformers' alternate modes turn them into tanks or racing cars, the best Soundwave toys actually transform him into a music player. Both versions of G1 Megatron in the Transformers R.E.D. line include several interchangeable hands, one of which is permanently grasping an Energon cube. Like all the Kreons released that year (at normal retail at least), he uses the new 2015-tooling Kreon body, which basically involves small construction changes on every part below the head, making them largely incompatible with the prior Kreon parts (heads still work fine), but the new tooling adds some extra functionality and structural support. Starscream and Soundwave inserted Energon, kept inside a metal cube, into Skyquake's stasis pod to revive him. Masters & Students Secretly, Soundwave was always a little surprised that his Barry White impression had taken him to the top ranks of the Decepticons. Both the Takara and Hasbro releases of Masterpiece Soundwave included an Energon Cube accessory. A clear plastic box, one side could be removed so that the cube could be plugged into Soundwave's cassette door chest to simulate the cube production he performed on the Sunbow animated series. At least on the Hasbro release, the cube didn't attach so well, though it did connect firmly to the grid attachment for Soundwave's chest.Kingdom Core Class Soundwave includes a tiny non-transforming Laserbeak cassette that can fit in his chest compartment. Unlike his larger partner, Laserbeak's molded details are based on his Masterpiece toy. Soundwave ejected all of his minions from his chest compartment, only for the last in line, Rumble, to refuse to come out; with all the extra leg room he now had, he was too comfortable to relinquish his spot. While I too think MP13 is a brilliant piece of art, I'm sure there are plenty of Soundwave fans who'd love another SW for their collection. Whether by design or coincidence, the Mi Pad's camera ends up on the robot mode's right shoulder where Soundwave usually has his iconic shoulder cannon.The TakaraTomy version of Laserbeak, part of the fourth wave of Japanese Generations toys, uses a deeper red plastic than the Hasbro version. In the event that Cosmos relayed this information to Megatron, the Decepticon leader became enraged and confronted the pair. Coming only with the Hasbro release of Soundwave (the Japanese version had Rumble instead), Buzzsaw transforms from a microcassette to a robotic condor. His cassette mode can fit into the tape compartment of the Soundwave and Blaster toys. Unlike the other four original Mini-Cassettes, Buzzsaw's deco is unique to the Transformer line rather than originating from Micro Change. In 1985, a heat-activated rubsign was added to his cassette mode front; unlike other toys, this did not replace his existing Decepticon insignia, located on his head.
