The first player to reach the RED space wins the game OR The last player on the Game Board, after all the other players have been caught and killed by the Grim Reaper, is the winner.

More information on quality can be found in this old but still very helpful article from Harvard Business Review. Suitable for ages 12+, this game is perfect for anyone with a dark sense of humour. Players have to make their way around the board, avoiding the Grim Reaper, as they work out whether the stupid deaths they’re reading about are true or false. How this game works is that players have to judge on whether a stupid death is real. One player chooses a Stupid Death card and reads it out. Other players have to decide if it’s likely that it was a stupid death or not. They use their coffin cards to select True or False. It’s then announced if it was a real stupid death. This is a collaborative review post from Sam, co-founder of Dafuq Is Dis. She is a big fan of party board games and agreed to review Stupid Deaths with her family. Stupid Deaths is a brilliantly dark family board game. The reader does not move unless all players have answered incorrectly. If this happens, the reader moves his/her Player Pawn two spaces forward on the Game Board.Some of the cards detail real life deaths, whereas others are made up. After the reader has read out the card, other players must guess if the death is true or false. Players who guessed correctly move one space forward and players who did not stay put. If all players guess incorrectly, the reader gets to move forward instead. While players are trying to work out if someone died from holding their bladder too long, the Grim Reaper moves closer. If the Grim Reaper catches up to a player, that player will lose their extra life token and move one space forward. If the Grim Reaper passes the same player again, they are eliminated from the game. Players must guess their way to the finish line whilst being chased by death.

Each player, minimum of 2 and maximum of 6, takes a true and false voting card, a playing piece and an extra life token. One player shuffles the Stupid Deaths Cards and places them in the middle of the Game Board. Each player is given an Extra Life Token, along with one True and one False Voting Card. The oldest player begins the game as the reader. The player will read the Stupid Death Card aloud to the group. All other players will vote whether they think the death is a myth or a fact by choosing a voting card. When all players are ready, the chosen voting card is flipped. The game states that it’s for kids 12+. However, if your kids are able to deal with mature subjects, you could play it with kids 9 and older. The first is brand. Looking at the brand of the product is often a really good indicator for judging product quality. For example you’d expect a much higher quality product from a brand known for providing excellent quality than you would from an unknown or even a budget brand.

End of the Game

In this hilarious game, each player tries to identify if each stupid death is true or false in an attempt to beat the Grim Reaper around the board. Any wrong move, and he gets a step closer to making you the loser of the game! Avoiding the touch of death is key in making it to the safety of the red space! It sounds easy, but once you realise just how ridiculous some of the ways people have died actually are, it becomes a lot more difficult! Each player received an Extra Life Token, a True voting card, and a False voting card. These will be used throughout the course of the game, so do not dispose of them!

Each player chooses a Player Pawn and places it on the GREEN space at the bottom of the Game Board. Players place the Grim Reaper on the RED space at the top of the Game Board. Next up is material. While the adults that played this game did enjoy it I would say the age rating of 12 is about right. Players who guess correctly move one space. If there are players who voted incorrectly, the Grim Reaper moves one space for each incorrect answer. If during the game, the Grim Reaper catches up with a player, they are now “touched by death” and are out of the game unless they have an Extra Life token that they play. The first person to reach the Red space on the board or who is the last player left is the winner. The brand of product you buy can vary in importance, from person to person. Some people will of course be much more particular about the brands they will use. Whilst others aren’t interested in the brand and are more interested in the overall quality or price of the product itself. Thankfully Stupid Deaths is a brand that many customers have grown to love over the years and is very popular for items in the Board games category. If the Grim Reaper lands on the same space or passes a pawn, the player has officially experienced the touch of death! If the player still has a Extra Life Token available, they may use it at this point to save themselves. If an Extra Life Token is used, it is then discarded and is unable to be used again for the remainder of the game.

Players take it in turn to read out Stupid Death cards. These cards contain deathly scenarios. For example, Brahe died from a bladder infection after politeness kept him from using the bathroom during a royal banquet, causing his bladder to rupture.
