In Smallville Lex Luthor's fiance tried to kill him by leaving him alone on a plane without a pilot. When Lex survives and confronts her, she tries to pin the murder attempt on his father Lionel. Lex tells her that "if my father wanted me dead, he wouldn't have failed." Another variant in " The Dying Night", where a paper of an important invention is copied and destroyed after the scientist's death. The man's assistant is the first suspect, but Dr. Wendell Urth points out that with the scientist's secrecy, he could have simply walked out with the papers. He had no reason to believe the scientist talked with anyone else, and if he knew otherwise, no reason to suspect he was taken seriously. Perhaps the main elements of the Roy Grace series, designed to keep the attention and interest piqued is the now bizarre situation with his first wife Sandy who is increasingly popping up in his later novels. I guess we are all waiting to see what happens when he and his new, personality deficient wife Cleo discover that she is still alive, especially now they are legally or maybe illegally married. Yet the whole thing is getting infuriating and really needs to be resolved one way or the other. In the The Godfather novel, this is the implication behind the horse head "warning". Woltz talks big game and brags about being personal friends with the president, which makes him "untouchable". The fact that the Don's men managed to sneak into his house, kill his horse, and put the head on his bed without him ever noticing shows that if Corleone wanted to kill him, he could easily do it without any resistance. One of the major pulls with the series in the ongoing drama with his long missing wife (now presumed dead). I was under the impression that this element of the story would be completed by now and was hoping that this book would bring closure to that element as I am tiring of wondering. However, once again we only see the briefest glimpses of what happens, and I was absolutely gutted at how this has once again been left open ended, and maybe open to interpretation by the reader. Although it may seem like it’s all negatives I’m spouting off it really isn’t like that at all. I guess with Peter James you expect perfection every time (so no pressure there Peter), and I tend to be a lot more critical with longer established writers.On The Bold and the Beautiful, a private investigator is offering several scenarios as to who shot a hated character. One of the suspects scoffs when the attention is focused on him, stating that he's an excellent marksman and had he been the one to shoot the guy, he'd be dead, not just simply wounded.

One thing you don’t seem to have taken into consideration is a person’s faith. I absolutely identify with the passive desire for my life to end. The ONLY reason I have not ended my life is the fear of being forever separated from Jesus in Heaven. I simply cannot take that chance. Hell is very real, and if, for whatever reason, suicide is considered a sin by God, I’m not willing to chance it. From the start the murders begin only covered to most eyes as suicide. Red does not believe it is neither does Grace. Red is such a likeable character who you can totally root for. She had found a new love after her last disastrous online date. Apart from he is out to kill, out to kill her and everything she loves. He loves a fire or two or three plus. In Dead Beat, Harry inverts it. When Kumori appears to him in a stairwell out of a veil, holding power ready, having him dead to rights, his inner monologue concludes that she must want to talk because she could've easily have killed him if she wanted to.The Roy Grace series is one of my favourites. It has its flaws but on the whole it's a good crime series that keeps me hooked. For various reasons, some just personal preference, this one is easily my least favourite of the 10 I've read. The Swedes also did this at sea, with one of their little diesel-electric submarines sneaking into a carrier battle group during a NATO exercise and "sinking" the USS Ronald Reagan, then sneaking out again. They took pictures through the sub's periscope from torpedo range as proof. This has happened several times with countries with smaller navies, including Canada, Israel, and Germany, demonstrating how a Weak, but Skilled opponent can do some serious damage to a larger military. I really hate when people say that’s the past just get over it move on if it were that freaking easy don’t they think we would all do it if it was that easy to overcome our pain that we have suffered for so long that we would just do it if it was possible wouldn’t that be amazing wouldn’t it be wonderful it’s like the computer with the refresh button for our brains that would be awesome but that’s not what happens
