To boot into android on the RG353, simply remove the SD card from the TD1 slot then turn on the device. JELOS's developers had moved away from releasing public binaries, developing their project as sourcecode only, and were dropping support for Anbernic's ARM-based devices to focus on newer and more capable x86-based devices, but left the option open for others to continue to support these devices using JELOS's exisiting code, to build and/or release their own binaries as they see fit… EDIT: Now, as of Feb 19 2023, JELOS is once again releasing builds for RK3566 Anbernic devices.

All in all, the RG353V is neither a downgrade nor an incremental upgrade but rather a new addition to the RG353 line (as the name suggests) to cater to different preferences. It could be recommended for those preferring the vertical layout and while the RK3566 is showing its age on more demanding systems, you expect decent emulation for systems up to N64 and Dreamcast, with the bonus of being able to emulate PSP and run Android. If this will satisfy your retro gaming needs, it’s worth looking into this device as the hardware build wont disappoint. In terms of storage features, Anbernic certainly threw everything but the kitchen sink into this. It has a primary SD card slot for the Linux firmware, as well as the possibility of primary storage. However, there is also a secondary SD card slot for storage. This is a beneficial feature that they have included on prior models, as in the event of corruption to the firmware during an update, or simply when you’d like to reflash to a different firmware entirely, it does not require you to migrate your entire ROM library if they are on the secondary card instead. Performance will not be amazing on PSP, it will be a little faster than the Linux OS. You will not get 60 FPS on God Of War, more like the mid 30’s with some tweaking. As for AetherSX2 and Dolphin emulators, it still remains a mystery why Anbernic installed them as you will not get much running on either emulator.The 1GB of extra RAM adds some increased performance, but the Android OS features some extras that adds to the overall experience of using this device, which isn’t something i’d typically say because I love the Linux OS on most of the best retro handhelds, it’s easy to use, easy to understand and you can typically give it to a child to understand, but there’s a few reasons why I have moved to using purely Android on the RG353V.
