One of the first things you notice on the Model D Wirelessis the fact that there are no more holes in the mouse buttons. Most companies seem to be moving away from the cheese grater designs these days (or at least reducing the amount of holes in the shell) and it seems like Glorious is following suit on this front. I can’t say that I have any strong opinions on the subject, though. I don’t mind holes in a mouse and I also don’t mind the feeling of my fingers resting on said holes, but I do know that a lot of people in the community don’t really appreciate feeling them underneath their fingers so on the whole this is probably a welcome change. The Model D Wirelessis a medium-large sized ergonomic mouse that comes in at an impressive weight of just 69 grams. For a wired mouse that wouldn’t be considered impressive anymore in this day and age, but for a wireless mouse of this size I would definitely say that this is an impressive feat. Let’s start by stating the obvious: The Model D- isn’t the perfect mouse for trying to run a World of Warcraft raid or fly a plane in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Its six-button layout is intended very much for shooters, and it’s in shooters where our testing primarily lies. i have a hand size of 19*10 and my current harpoon by corsair feels small and sharp to my hands. i am looking for a fingertip-palm hybrid mouse for playing csgo . will this suit me ? Completing the Glorious Model D Wireless Gaming Mouse is its iconic honeycomb design. The bezel is manufactured from highly durable materials, enhancing the overall longevity of this gaming mouse.

It is incredibly important to do your own research and find out what works and doesn’t work for youin a gaming mouse though, so take what we reviewers say about grip compatibility with a grain of salt. I’m sure there are fingertip grippers out there who absolutely love this mouse, for example. Buttons and Scroll Wheel Once working, the software offers RGB customization across three zones -- the mouse wheel and two strips along the sides -- along with CPI and polling rate adjustments. Thankfully, the out-of-the-box settings worked perfectly well and that’s a boon for anyone who wants to play without having to install more software. The Model D is Glorious’ first ergonomic mouse, and people who know their stuff will notice that it looks very similar to something like a Zowie EC. As a reviewer I try to stay away from making too many comparisons to other mice because I prefer to let products speak for themselves but I obviously cannot ignore the fact that this is basically a clone of the EC. I’m not taking a position in this whole ‘are copied shapes a good thing or not’ debate, I’m just mentioning it in case you want to try out this particular shape. When you say you can see the pcb you mean like literally ? Like if my one year old spilled some soda on it poof ?

Glorious hasn’t always been a company that’s known for their stellar QC process so this section might be a bit more important for this mouse than it is for others. The ergonomic design feels nice in the hand and shows what a difference the combination of a lightweight build and great quality PTFE feet can make. As a claw-grip gamer with smaller hands and an enduring love for the IntelliMouse profile, my personal preference still lies with the Model O Minus and the Model O’s shape, but those used to something more substantial underhand will get on famously with the Model D.I’ve spent a bit more time evaluating this portion of the mouse because the QC of the buttons and scroll wheel is one of the most often complained about aspects on enthusiast forums (by which I don’t mean that every Glorious mouse had issues on this front: people are far more likely to post their complaints than they are to post their praises, for one) but I can’t really find any big flaws here. It’s true that the main buttons technically aren’t flawless, but I have been looking at those under a proverbial microscope and they come out just fine for day to day usage. Build Quality and Cable Glorious is a peripherals company that has had a meteoric rise over the past couple of years. Their first couple of releases were received in a rather ‘cold’ manner but when they announced the Model Omouse they almost immediately gathered an enormous following in the enthusiast scene. Despite some hiccups here and there (that’s really something that’s almost inevitable when you produce peripherals) they have now firmly solidified themselves as a company that produces high tier peripherals, complete with the latest innovations and trends. All in all this D looks really nice if you ask me. Something about the way the RGB lights up parts of the inside of the mouse just looks interesting to me, and while I am aware of the fact that some people strongly dislike the inclusion of the Glorious beard-man I can definitely say that this mouse is an eye-catcher. Not that this matters for performance, but I thought I’d mention it. Glorious has built a lightweight program in the Model D Software to match its lightweight mouse. It offers the essential tweaks in a small footprint (under 5MB) install with an easy-to-use user interface (UI). Unfortunately, it didn’t work out of the box. The Model D is an entirely new shape (well, entirely new for the Glorious line of mice that is) so it can’t really be compared to their Model O but it is nice to see that the company has taken pretty much everything that reviewers and consumers alike were complaining about with their first release and used that to improve on those aspects with the Model D.

Today, we’re taking a look at their newest release, the Model D Wireless. What’s interesting here is that Glorious has made a number of changes when compared to their latest wireless release, the Model O Wireless. The Model D obviously has a different shape, but we also see the removal of holes in the buttons, for example, and (more interestingly) the inclusion of Glorious’ very own mouse switches. Combine that with a tightened up QC process and a very attractive price when compared to other wireless options on the market and you’ve got what could be one of the best options out there at this point in time.

Choosing between the Model D- and Model O- will come down to comfort, and that depends on your hand, shape, size and grip. Both Minus models will feel more comfortable to smaller hands and claw grips. The larger variants will fill out a palm nicely for palm and hybrid grip players, and are naturally better suited to larger digits and pads. Plus, the Model D- is lighter than the Model D. Both side buttons actuate with a tactile feeling and there’s almost none of that typical ‘side button mushiness’ present. There is a bit of a pivoting issue: the center part of the side button has virtually no post travel whereas the further out from the center you push, the more post travel becomes apparent. The buttons never travel inside the shell though (unless you apply a whole lot of force and you press them at their very edge) and even then the travel stays limited so as far as I’m concerned these side buttons are perfectly up to par. As with many mice, there’s a touch of post travel, but this is something that happens with a lot of mice and it’s well within acceptable tolerances.

The good vibes continue with the scroll wheel: this now has a bit more definition when compared to the Model O and seeing as that was basically the only complaint I had about the wheel I’m very pleased with this one. The textured rubber wheel is nearly silent but still nicely defined so that you don’t accidentally scroll too far and it’s easy enough to press as well. Build Quality and Cable The Glorious Model D Wirelessis, on its own, perhaps not a very groundbreaking release in today’s market. We have lightweight wireless mice, and we have a lot of lightweight ergonomic mice. What’s important here is the price, however. The Model D Wirelesscomes in at a much friendlier price point than similar mice from (well-known) competitors, giving it a leg up over those competitors. It’s completely possible to use the Model D Wirelesswithout ever installing anything, but if you want to use an uncommon DPI or change the RGB you will need Glorious’ Core software. This is a pretty lightweight piece of software, but it’s not the most reliable driver program out there. One day during testing, it asked me to update the program, which I obviously did, and afterwards it asked me again, after which it sort of reinstalled itself and I lost my saved lighting profile on my GMMK Pro keyboard, for example.Obviously we’re talking about the Model D Wirelesshere, so what the software does to my keyboard isn’t exactly relevant, but it is an example of how it needs some work. Just when you thought the Glorious Model D Gaming Mouse couldn’t get any better, a wireless model appears! Connecting via 2.4GHz wireless with a 5m range, the Glorious Model D Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse has the lowest latency amongst top-tier mice. Utilising the latest technology, this gaming mouse won’t drop connection so you can confidently game. What’s more, with its 71-hour battery life you can game for longer between charges. When it does drop low, simply plug in the provided USB charging cable and continue to play.The gripes here are pretty miniscule. There’s some button wobble if you really look for it, and a DPI indicator on the underside of the mouse. But there’s also the issue of the manufacturer branding, which shouldn’t go completely without mention. Unlike the subreddit name, the “Master” has been dropped from Glorious PC Gaming Race’s name, but that doesn’t mean it’s free of the same tasteless connotations. It felt uncomfortable when the first Glorious mice arrived and still does. If you’re looking for something with less heavy branding, the HK Gaming Mira-M offers a similar, lightweight gaming experience while being ambidextrous. The unique feature of the Glorious Model D Gaming Mouse lies in the honeycomb pattern adorning the top and bottom of the mouse. Thanks to the multitude of cut-outs, the total weight of the mouse has undergone a marked reduction. The honeycomb pattern lends the mouse a unique appearance and enables users to enjoy an unhindered view of the mouse's interior as well as the mechanical parts. The RGB-LED lighting only adds to the unique looks of this mouse. The added benefit of this honeycomb design is the fact that not only does it look cool, it is cool - with your hands staying fresher for longer over the course of extended gaming sessions. I tested the Model D Wirelessover the course of a few weeks and I’ve also given it the usual ‘stress tests’ and it came out just fine. Contrary to what you could find on some of the brand’s older models, there’s now no flexing or creaking, making for a mouse that feels well built. The mouse is also dead silent when shaking or tapping it. Their promise of tightening their quality control process doesn’t seem to be an empty promise. The Model D uses Glorious’ BAMF sensor. That one’s based on the 3370 and was created in collaboration with PixArt, and from my testing I can’t find anything wrong with it. There were some sensor issues when the BAMF was first implemented in the Model O Wirelessbut those have since been fixed with a firmware update and it seems like they got it right from the start this time.
